Do you prefer lots of cheap things or a few quality items?

Not a TAAT but inspired by a comment on another thread:

If you have the choice (ie you have enough money), do you prefer to buy, say, one or two expensive, good-quality items of clothing, or pairs of shoes, or writing pads ir whatever it is you need?

Or would you prefer to buy lots of cheaper items, eg plenty of cheap pairs of jeans rather than one pricey pair?

(Obviously £££ doesn’t always equate to better quality but for the sake of argument.....)

I’m just interested to know what people prefer.

Cheap things I think.

I get bored of things easily, and most of my clothes are cheap anyway. I only shop in sales and never spend more than £20 on jeans/top/dress etc

Depends - clothes I tend to go for high quality classics (which tend to be expensive). But notebooks, I get through a lot and as long as I can write on the things, I don't care. I get mine in bulk from wherever they're cheapest.

Sports equipment where safety and comfort are important, I pay for quality.

Lots of cheap things. I don't like to wear the same things all the time.

Cheaper things, pretty much every designer style has a similiar cheaper alternative so why splurge

I think I tend to go for middle of the range stuff, but get the best I can afford. I don't like cheap things, but can't afford really expensive (even though I'd like to).

High quality and fewer. We don’t need lots of stuff, much better to get a few things that look good and will last than a lot of cheap tat.
