To be annoyed with next door neighbour's dog hair

Our front yard is covered in thick white dog hair. Next door neighbour has a big white dog. The hair is deeply embedded into our door mat as well.

We've been neighbours for almost a year . It has only just started happening in the past months.

They keep to themselves and aren't very friendly - we barely get a reply to a good morning so we don't have any sort of relationship for me to bring this up in conversation .

Aibu to be annoyed and want to say something? Unsure as I don't know anything about dogs so don't know if they'd be able to do anything about it anyway so genuinely don't want to be unreasonable .

Grin placemarking in anticipation of wittier replies than I can come up with.

  • drop round some Plantur 39 hair loss shampoo
  • gather it all up and knit a woolly jumper?

1st suggestion would be to hoover your door mat? Then hairs won’t get embedded.

2nd suggestion is to ask them not to brush their dog in their own front garden- If they are reasonable then no problem. If they are unreasonable then you’ve just started a war that will probably get worse. I don’t envy you.

My neighbors have just started bbq-ing for the summer, so no matter the heat we have to have our windows shut, and even then everything smells of smoke.

Have you considered moving? I am.

I really dont think i could get wound up about dog hair on my garden!

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 20/05/2018 17:13

Well it will only happen twice a year when the dog blows it's coat so personally I'd struggle to give two fucks about it tbh.

Ahh I didn't know this!
Had it jetwashed recently and put lots of new planters and flowers so was a little irritated when saw it gradually getting covered but if it's only twice a year that should be ok. I thought the dog might have some sort of health problem at the amount of hair it has she's Blush

Yes, they probably brushed him and it’s all flown into your garden
It won’t be a regular thing - it’s the time of year. When we used to brush our old GSD all the birds went mad to pinch his fluffy hair for their nests 😂

We brushed our moulting husky recently. 6 carrier bags of hair full!! She is a bald mongrel looking thing now!!
(I do love a nice mongrel though!!)
No more hair to come off so Sharon if that IS you, it's all over!!
Til next year!Grin

Oh and I was advised by some mners in the doghouse to put some in a bird feeder for lovely soft nests!!
So I did!!

I watched a huskie being hairdried and brushed on YouTube recently
I was staggered by the amount of fur!
