Where did you have your best ever holiday? I think mine would have to be the Canadian Rockies during the summer (weather was amazing and the scenery is like nothing else).

Driving down the west coast of the USA, including death valley and Las Vegas, with only a loose itinerary, stopping when and where we pleased.

Disneyworld. We’ve done a once in a lifetime with the kids 3 times. We’ll probably do it again in a couple of years.

Nerja in Spain. Went with DP and my family for my 40th birthday. Very special memories, beautiful place. Also, Whitby for a week with DP was lovely. Plan to go again this year, if possible.

Never, ever thought I’d say this until I’d been there, but...... Florida.

LoniceraJaponica · 20/05/2018 11:19

Honeymoon in Orlando. 10 days of absolutely brilliant fun. We were on a high from the wedding and are total rollercoaster junkies but we also swam in Crystal Lake with wild manatees and did lots of shopping.

I also really enjoyed San Francisco, Boston, Bruges, and Dublin.

NeedForBlossom · 20/05/2018 11:26

@bluesheep8 that's great to hear, our summer holiday this year is about 30 minutes away from Nerja Smile

GalwayWayfarer · 20/05/2018 11:26

Sri Lanka and driving the North coast 500 in Scotland - absolutely outstanding!

LockedOutOfMN · 20/05/2018 11:26

Honeymoon in Lake Garda. The weather was amazing and we swam in the lake every day.

9 days in a motorhome round Scotland with DH and the kids, last summer. Was awesome. Didn't even get rained on.

Pre-child it was Icmeler Marmaris in Turkey. We went with a stopover in Istanbul first, spent 4 days in Istanbul and then flown to Icmeler and stayed the main part of the holiday there. It was so lovely that after having dd, we went back hoping to repeat the experience.
With dd in tow, it was a bit different but still lovely. It beats doing one resort for two weeks.

I travelled a lot on holidays as a child with my parents and also a fair bit with friends when at uni, then a lot more with dh. Been to all continents. The most memorable and heart warming holiday I ever had, is the Turkey ones, especially the pre-child one in Icmeler.
Met absolutely lovely people there, which certainly added to the beauty of the scenery.

Our second best holiday is Canada, drive-through. Again, met lovely people along the way and it added to the wonderful experience.

The best holiday in the UK was Scotland. We did Glasgow and lochs and Edinburgh. Glasgow is lovely.

MrsDilber · 20/05/2018 12:00

Lindos, Rhodes, 30 years ago before mass tourism came and you could buy a packet of cigs for 50p. Great holiday. Beautiful place.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 20/05/2018 12:00

Just one isn't enough. Pre-dd, the Alps, York, Malta. Post-dd, Cornwall, Paris, Iceland on our own, Malta with all of us.

goose1964 · 20/05/2018 12:17

Skiathos for my honeymoon, and Barbados for my 40th.

CactaiPie · 20/05/2018 12:26

Gloucestershire believe it or not... we'd both been doing 100 work weeks for very little, so we booked a room in semi rural Gloucestershire and holed up there for 2 weeks, only coming out to get pizza from reception. There was a fair bit of sex, drinking and just lying in bed holding each other. We turned our phones off and shut the world out.

I've done many holidays since and that will always be the best. Blush sorry hawaii, Spain, Italy and Australia. Grin

Currently in Menorca and it’s doing pretty well! Definitely the best trip post kids...

Frosty66612 · 20/05/2018 12:31

@currywurst Menorca was always my favourite holiday when I was younger. It’s such a beautiful island

Great camping holiday in the south of France pre kids. Would love to do it again.

eloisesparkle · 20/05/2018 12:33

Disney Florida

Rudgie47 · 20/05/2018 12:33

New York and Boston. The highlight of the trip was going out on the catamarans to the Stelwaggon Bank feeding ground. We saw so many Whales it was untrue, there were calves there as well. We went back the next day as well. Easily the best thing I've seen.
As a second the Outer Hebrides.
