Misogynistic language on legal porn sites - why is this accepted?

I realise that the porn industry is what it is, but how is it that on legal sites such as PornHub or YouPorn such vile misogynistic language is allowed to stand? Invariably every caption for every video on such sites is referring to women as "slut", "milf", "slag", "bitch" or worse. If there were sites where page after page was rife with racist or homophobic language, there would be public outrage and they would rightly be taken down. How is such vile abusive language somehow acceptable when it's used towards women when it would not be against any other group in humanity?

I admire your determination in finding offensive terms to women by going to pornsites

Misogyny is deeply ingrained in society.

Also as you say the porn industry is what it is. This week there has been just another trial where porn was a factor in the sadistic murder of a woman. Did you see any outrage? Has there been any soul-searching in the industry? Has the government announced any measures to monitor and control porn, and to educate users in its effects? No, I thought not.

araiwa - no determination is needed and this is the point. You click on these sites and the language is there instantly. It's easier than using MN - no password or joining required. I can't imagine a scenario where a site where every image was captioned with racist language, for instance, with links to more racist headlines and so on would be allowed to stand.

Porn sites are full of racist language, I don’t know how you haven’t seen it.

RebelRogue · 19/05/2018 11:11

Mainly because these are the terms people search for, which in turn redirects them to the site ,getting them views.
"Attractive mother making love" isn't a regular porn search.

Porn is mysoginistic, the language, users, settings,"plot" etc will be too.
