It appears we haven't quite finished workshopping the ethical issues of 'influencing' on Instagram: disclose of advertising, the exploitation of minors and the similarities to MLM schemes.

Did KK comment on that post? I'm also just wondering, what if those lollies work? If sucking on a lolly saves you eating 4 Aldi caramel shortcakes that could be seen as a win surely?

I think MOD is starting to unravel.

I do feel for MOD, because a few people have come onto these threads and said how lovely she has been when they have met her in person, and these threads always seem to return to the same theme over and over again, which I do understand must be hurtful for her. I think she really needs to take a look at what is happening though. Going back to the original question of the thread about ethics, I think its really important that IGers are scrupulously honest in what they do, and that means every tiny interaction they have with followers. I am going to step away from the thread now myself for a bit and I think I am going to review my own IG feed and go on a blocking spree too to clear things out for a bit and try to hunt down some of the lovely crafty accounts I used to enjoy following and which seem to be lost in my algorithm.

Wow. Laura's (deleted) comment and the DM exchange on her stories are apretty shocking combination.

I'm sure KK could not give one tug about this and the minion who runs her instagram account is probably peering at MOD's profile, thinking "who dat?!". Which no doubt MOD will find absolutely incredulous that KK isn't logging in nightly fit book recommendations and to watch tip trips!

Another one confused about the kk situation. Mod doesn't endear herself well in those messages, I don't know the full story though. I do feel like she needs some media training to handle the demands of her ig role and the pressures that come with it.

Someone mentioning fod leaving the potty pic up even though mod doesn't like it does seem a bit strange. My husband wouldn't dream of leaving it up (wouldn't post it in the first place, of course...). It's probably fod's defiance to the haterzzzz

It is sad how it comes back to this @reboot. I joined this thread after comments from Mod and really hoped it was going to be positive. If this is now her full time job she really needs a good manager to guide her through communicating online and on her page as it does seem she a fantastic midwife to have and a lovely person to meet, it's such a shame that's not conveyed well in her posts and responses.
But I also felt really sad for her as you if Simon won't remove a photo she disapproves of, of her own children, and right after she's posted how she's consciously stepped back from posting the older girls, he posts a picture of them and a post about them, then what does that really say about this whole life on Instagram. It's kind of toxic.

I also think mod and fod got a bit of bashing for the charity trip here, which was valid. But to cut them some slack a bit on that front it was likely a naive move rather than strategic, and they are ultimately trying to do something for charity rather than nothing. I hope, anyway.

Yep, totally agree Reboot . I think MoD is in a right old pickle right now. She isn't the polymath you need to be to try and relaunch yourself as a magazine and she seems to be chasing one good cause after another, all the while getting it wrong. Her husband just gives me the creeps. Hope she can find a way back to the blogger she was and, in the meantime, I too am going to take a beak.

Kim Kardashian has 111 MILLION followers on Instagram, versus MOD's 489k, I doubt that post/comments argument is even vaguely on her people's people's people's radar, let alone of interest enough for her to block MOD. I'm assuming MOD was kidding when she said that KK had blocked her.

In fairness I didn't have that much of an issue with #shameonyoukim it was her opinion and she was calling out use of lollies as an appetite suppressant. That was her opinion. It just all goes a bit tits up when you've been accusing others of bullying and then you get called out on something so that in turn gets bullied by teaminsta, then you back down and remove it then expect everyone else to back down. Far better to be politically correct but stand by who you are. Take the hashtag down but focus on what you didn't like as a mum of 4 girls, not descend into vile banter with followers.
The private messages are just so unprofessional.
