You mean topping not dip. It would be really hard to dip a jacket potato in anything.

Tuna and sweet corn is popular with my niece, or sometimes I scoop out the inside and mix the potato with ham and cheese and put it under the grill she likes that too.

Ah... confused I see you meant what I'd call a jacket potato (never never never cook them in foil, the skin goes all soggy) with a filling, not a sauce/dip.

My mum used to do an awful thing with mushrooms, courgettes, and chopped tomatoes that still makes me want to vomit a bit, thirty years later. Never do that. The most popular one in our house is cheesy beanos - jacket potato, filled with baked beans and grated cheese. It's also the easiest one in the world. But honestly, if you season the potato right on the outside, you don't need much more than butter and salt on the inside

I like cottage cheese and chive, DH and DS (1 yo) like spicy beef chilli and sour cream, or cheese and beans, or their favourite is the insides scooped out, mashed with extra mature cheddar and lots of whole grain mustard and put back into the oven again. But my son is a bit weird - I don’t think all 1 year olds are keen on lots of mustard!

Dip assumes you can pick it up and dip it in which would be hard with a baked potato. Wedges are dipped. Baked potatoes are topped.

I didn’t grow up in the UK and have lived in 14 different countries and never encountered a baked potato with dip - I’m so curious to know where you are from now!

You don't normally have a dip with a jacket spud.

It usually comes with a filing in the middle of the spud. Tuna mayo, cheese and beans etc.

Humous is good for that or salsa, or guacamole. You can also make dip by mixing creme fraiche with soft cheese like Philadelphia, the garlic and herb one is good
