...to think that @Highgatemums is now just a tool for Highgate Mums to show off further?

It used to be very funny, with overheard comments and performance parenting at its best.

But now it is a tool for the performance parents! "Asparagus, Quinoa and Kohlrabi......such a @highgatemums shopping list!" At first it might have been ironic but now there are more HGM's on there than not, so its just lost its punch.

The HGMs have reclaimed that stereotype slur, very woke.

What on earth are Highgate mums?

EinsteinsArousedSausagesHCB · 14/05/2018 09:47

Of course it's showing off.

If my DC ate any of that, I'd be tempted to show off too, naked cartwheels included. In reality I'd probably wonder wtf was wrong with them, and worry that they'd been swapped with some alien hybrid.

In my experience, "fish fingers, chicken dippers and fries-to-go," just doesn't induce frothing at the mouth envy.

@bitchqueen90 I wondered that too. It appears to be a twitter feed (and followed by a book) of overheard conversations from middle class mums ...

This was funny ten years ago, how is it still going?

jamoncrumpets · 14/05/2018 10:10

I used to live in Crouch End (next to Highgate) and found HM very funny and apt. It's parody now though.
