Hi

I’ve had a sore throat for just over a week, today just because I’m a bit weird I shone a light into my throat to see if it was still red - I can see these weird white spots in there ... any idea what it is? Does it warrant a visit to the gp tomorrow? I know they don’t like to give antibiotics unless they’re sure it’s bacterial so if it’s likely to be some virus I’ll leave it :/

Ohmydayslove
Mmm not true tonsillitis if you well enough to post as with true tonsillitis you are off your feet like flu.

Not always. If I can get enough pain relief into me and get my temp down I can use my ipad on the sofa and watch TV etc.

I can’t get them out 😢 Just made everything more sore and possibly pushed them in more!

I’ll have a go at the salt water before I go to bed :(

Thanks everyone for your suggestions xx

You push next to them, rather than on them. It does get a bit sore but when they are out... much better.

Go to the drs. I’m still putting my money on strep and you’ll get 10 day’s penicillin for that so you don’t develop complications.

I can mn when I’ve got strep.

They are called tonsoliths and smell horrendous.

I'm totally youtubing tonsil stones!

Go to your doctor immediately.

My sort throat needed a lot of attention.

Please go now.

I am a bit shocked at all tj advice to start sticking cotton buds in your throat. Please do not do that. You already look like you have an infection and shoving non sterile objects into it will only make it worse
Make an appointment at the GP tomorrow or go to a walk on centre. You probably need antibiotics. You will feel better in 48h once you have the proper treatment.

My GP told me that sucking on a sherbet lemon usually gets them out as the saliva glands flood the mouth in reaction to the sour taste?
