Organising a Great Get-Together for new neighbourd

I live in London, and have just moved house to quite a big block of flats.

I’m thinking of organising a Great Get-Together for this June, for other people in my block of flats.

As we don’t really have any outside space outside the block, I’m thinking of organising a massive picnic in a nearby park.

But because it’s such a big block of flats and i don’t know anyone apart from my flatmates, I’m feeling a bit apprehensive, even though there’s lots of guidance about how to organise something (including on the website I’ve linked to in this post).

What do you all think? Is this a crazy idea? I’d love for it to work out, but I think it’ll be hard work. Any tips? I know I sound pathetic, but what if no one turns up? :(

I think you need to sound out some of the other residents first. Once you have several on board then it would be safer to go ahead. Just knock on their doors and ask if they are interested.

Is there a car park or road you could have blocked off? Much more likely to get people there if on the door step?

Thanks Walking and Domino :) that’s a good idea, Walking. Domino, that’s a good idea - I’ll look into finding out if it’s possible. I wonder if I’d have to talk to the council about it?

Just bumping in case anyone has anything else to add :) think I’ll start sending out notes tomorrow to see who’s interested :)
