To not throw away an unused "Murder Mystery Evening" box

I've just found in back of cupboard a Murder Mystery Evening in box. It has instructions menu suggestions and dress code to stage a murder mystery meal at home. I reckon I've had this about 30 years and never got round to using it. Does anyone else have one of these? Has anyone actually hosted one of these themed evenings?

Yes. I bought and hosted one in the late 1990s. It came with a cassette you played to reveal clues, and character cards for everyone - there were clues they had to drop into the conversation. It was a 1930s theme and the box also included some herbs or similar to add to the meal. We all dressed up and it was a great success.

I've done a few of these, very popular and great fun. I don't always follow the recipes though, just try to do food that is 'appropriate for the era' but easily to prep and serve, so I'm not in the kitchen too much. Go for it!

My DD just went to a modern version of this as a 13th birthday party Grin it was an incredible success.
