To wonder if a quick flash of boob is going to hurt anyone?

Me and DP surf he surf's, I'm completely shit so this means we spend a lot of time getting changed in beach car parks.

I was thinking today... WIBU to stop struggling to cover my boobs when changing and just quickly whip my top off and pop my bra back on in the car park?

I wear a high necked top under my wetsuit and struggling out the wettie and the top under a changing robe then trying to get a bra on with really achey biceps is a bloody faff and takes ages and usually results in a lot of swearing. I also sometimes need DPs help to pull the shoulders of my wetsuit down which makes covering up really hard.

As I was struggling today and saw DP quickly amd easily yank down the top half of his wetsuit I thought maybe I should just do the same in future.

What do we think?

about a bloke changing and flashing his penis as their kids walked past?

Breasts aren’t genitals...

Loonoon · 13/05/2018 15:18

Just be careful not to do it in front of some MN busybody who might then post complaining of you 'prancing' around the car park corrupting their precious petals.

Thisnamechanger · 13/05/2018 15:19

loonoon Grin "prancing" does always seem to be the choice of verb!

I frankly couldn't give a monkey's, but I wonder if people would be so blase about a bloke changing and flashing his penis as their kids walked past?

But OP is not talking about stripping right down and showing her genitals, she's talking about showing the upper half of her body, which her DP also does. I don't think a flash of boob is comparable to flashing a penis at children. Most children are probably used to breasts anyway and wouldn't take any notice

OP I wouldn't worry about it. Anyone who is mortally offended by breasts as you change need to get a grip, especially if they're not offended by your DP's chest as he does the same thing

Thisnamechanger · 13/05/2018 15:22

*Struggling to see how this is so hard. I used to do it all the time.... (pre having two kids!)

Bikini, rash vest and wetsuit. Remove wetsuit and rash vest. Put Robie on. Remove bikini and get dressed! Simples!!!*

I don't wear a bikini under though I find it really irritating especially on my neck, also am 32aa so they don't tend to stay in place.

It's doable but it just a ballache, especially with aching arms and when it's howling windy.

If you're offended by boobs you need to have a word with yourself. Go ahead and sort yourself out as easily as possible, don't worry about a quick flash!

RainbowGlitterFairy · 13/05/2018 15:25

I just find a quiet-ish spot and get changed, I wouldn't park next to the ticket machine for example. No one seems to notice. Well apart from teen DS, he says its grim and I have to use a towel if he's with me, but I think his objection is to Mum boobs as opposed to women in general.

Veterinari · 13/05/2018 15:25

Whitney168 please explain how the op’s breasts are equivalent to male genitals and not just to male nipples etc?
It’s not even a remotely similar situation. You sound idiotic.

OP sunbathing topless is allowed though many people are prudish about it. This country is weird about skin Confused

I doubt anyone will be looking closely enough to notice and if they are, I doubt anyone will be scarred for life by the sight of a nipple. Crack on.

Isadora2007 · 13/05/2018 15:25

Why are you worried about offending anyone? Do you think boobs are offensive?
If you don’t, and you’re happy... then think of it that if someone IS offended that’s their choice to be. Nowt to do with you or your perky boobs!

Blobby10 · 13/05/2018 15:26

Having spent many years getting changed under a towel in a beach car park I consider myself experienced in this area!! In my youth I could just go braless but after breast feeding 3 babies for a total of 3 years I now have permanently perky nips (and droopier boobs!!!) so daren't go without.

I now put my bra on over my towel (as its wrapped around me, under my armpits), then pull the towel down and fit the bra properly ! Then bung the t shirt on top. All done whilst facing the car and surrounded as much as possible by open car doors or walls or other barrier.

Tbh if you're as quick as I am (and its usually freezing so I'm pretty rapid at changing!) if someone were to spot my boobs they would have to have been staring intently

Dont worry about it - unless you're parading round the car park topless then theres nothing for anyone to complain about

allthatmalarkey · 13/05/2018 15:27

I have this problem too, but really don't want boobs to be seen. Whilst breastfeeding in public, both my DCs went through a stage where they would just come off and laugh at me. Then get back on. People saw my breasts then (and my red face as it wasn't my plan to sit exposed) and the sky has not fallen in. I'm a bit more relaxed than before.

However, and this is aimed at legal experts, can you, in theory, be done for flashing/exposing yourself?

Sprinklesinmyelbow · 13/05/2018 15:27

I wouldn’t worry in the slightest about doing this. There is topless sunbathing on the beach after all?

EastMidsMummy · 13/05/2018 15:46

Face the car, be quick, make sure no-one’s really close and I can’t see how anyone could object.

Hugsythespacecowboy · 13/05/2018 15:47

Nah but if someone's bloke stares at you, you might get a mouthful from the Mrs Grin

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 13/05/2018 15:48

"Attention seeking" is now the term for perky nips in my house

In our house it's "Your headlights are on full beam"

LRDtheFeministDragon · 13/05/2018 15:49

I don't think I would change in the car park, personally, but I never thought twice about stripping off on the beach. It's a beach! Of course people will see your boobs as you get changed - and if it bothers them they should look away! I occasionally see women contorting to get changed while swathed in towels, but isn't it much more usual just to do it all quickly, just as you do in communal changing at a pool?

ADishBestEatenCold · 13/05/2018 15:51

I think it's okay to remove your top and put your bra on, but looking at the replies here some people do not Confused.

I have a colleague who regularly uses a wetsuit and also often gets changed in car parks. She likes to take her wetsuit right off, get properly dried and then dress. If parked in a remote area, she'll do this anyway (and good for her Smile), but last year she bought a pop-up changing/shower/toilet tent! Cost her about 15 quid, and she just takes it out the bag, stands it next to the car, and changes in private!

Apparently they are also much easier to put back in the bag that a pop-up tent (though I haven't actually tried)!

Thisnamechanger · 13/05/2018 15:52

Sometime there's a scramble down the side of a cliff to the beach so you have to unfortunately. Otherwise you'd have to come all the way back to drop clothes back.

OP posts:
WankStainWasher · 13/05/2018 15:59

Just do it really quick. They're just boobs. Anyone with manners will look away. Similarly, anyone who might be offended should look away.

I've seen blokes changing near their cars and once I realise what they're doing I quickly avert my eyes, not because the sight of a flaccid willy would cause me great upset, Shock but because it's the decent thing to do.

Similarly, you don't look into people's windows when you walk past a house, lest you be offended by the lady of the house who likes to hoover in her birthday suit! Grin

silverysky · 13/05/2018 16:08

Get a big old bath towel. Cut a slit in the middle for your head to go through. Put on like a tabard whilst you get changed. That should sort it.

Thisnamechanger · 13/05/2018 16:12

That's what a changing robe is. It's still a pain when you're trying to get your rash vest off and you arms don't work!

OP posts:
MrTumblesSpottyHag · 13/05/2018 16:12

Nah just go for it. I wouldn't care in the slightest if I saw you.

GladAllOver · 13/05/2018 19:52

It's such a faff to grope around under a blanket. I've watched people doing it because it's really quite funny.
It's not illegal for men or women to show their breasts in public, and anyway a quick change to/from a costume is done before anyone would realise.
Just do it.

ThirdNameChange · 13/05/2018 19:54

Shall I link you into my sunbathing topless thread OP? 😁

Racecardriver · 13/05/2018 19:56

If you are 32aa go braless. If your attention seeking miles bother you then get some sticky things and put them on under your shirt when you get in the car.
