I think that if they had, they would have given Italy, UK and Germany more points.

I thought they voted on last nights show. Tonight was for home votes only.

itswinetime · 13/05/2018 00:50

No they voted based on the dress rehearsal the night before at least that's what Grahame norton kept saying

ilovesooty · 13/05/2018 00:56

They vote on the dress rehearsal as stated above.

Didn't like three UK entry at all although she has my sympathy for the invasion. I'd have voted Estonia and Denmark if I could have text it

DioneTheDiabolist · 13/05/2018 01:31

I loved Italy and thought Germany did a great show.Smile

I thought Cyprus were nothing special and couldn't understand why they they became the bookies' favourites earlier today.Hmm

We bloody hated Austria and Sweeden was like Justin Beiber in a man's body - not in a good way.

Germany was cool but then I like Ed Sheeran

I always feel that the juries must have watched a different show tonne. Maybe them voting on the dress rehearsal explains it.

I do like seeing the way the televote can completely change the whole picture right at the end though. That is exciting. The public's perception of the performances is often so totally at odds with the opinions of the juries.

Topseyt · 13/05/2018 02:26

... different show to me! Ridiculous autocorrect there!

DioneTheDiabolist · 13/05/2018 02:48

I thought Austria was alright, but a bit nondescript and forgettable. I had to go back to my original notes and even then I wasn't impressed.

I miss watching the detailed public vote for each country. It was fun guessing who they'd give their points to, being surprised at the actual results, or unsurprised that they gave high scores to their neighbours. It was my favourite part of Eurovision.

It's a bit rubbish now they only go into detail for the jury vote. Who cares what a handful of music industry people in each country have voted for? I want to see the public vote. I know you can look it up online afterwards, but it's not the same Sad

safariboot · 13/05/2018 03:14

It's probably better the juries voting based on the rehearsal. They won't be swayed by the stadium crowd.

I voted for Netherlands, but expected Germany to do very well, but they weren't quite there. Maybe he lost points for being too like Ed Sheeran. In any case this year Europe went for the silly song.

DioneTheDiabolist · 13/05/2018 03:53

They should be swayed by the stadium crowd. The performance is at least as good as the song.
