I am 47, have always had heavy periods was diagnosed with PCOS in my early twenties but in my 30's and 40's my periods were regular and on time although very heavy, clotty and extremely painful.

Last month was one of the worst but yet this month just spotting and no pain.

I guess my question is as I am in the age range am I peri menopausal?

Yes you are. One of the benefits of being peri is your periods become less frequent and heavy. You can get a blood test from your gp to confirm this.

My periods were erratic when I was peri-menopausal. Spotting one month, nothing the next, flooding the next and so on for about 4 years until eventually they stopped. What a relief!

my normally light and irregular periods did the opposite, became regular and flooding. Luckily they just came to a stop No missing periods or anything
