To think after school club/holiday club shouldn't be showing pirated videos?

Sorry not sure if that's even the correct term..

And fully expecting to be told to lighten up but this has been bugging me for a bit.

DS is 7 and goes to holiday club and after school club quite a lot. When the weather has been rubbish they generally do some indoor activity like craft or baking and then a film in the afternoon.

However the films that they watch are generally copied ones. At the moment they are watching the Greatest Showman for instance.

Now, on top of it being illegal it also bugs me because I any time I have planned a nice cinema trip for me and DS lately it's been something he's already watched at holiday club so it just feels like they are taking the shine off some of the time I do activities with him.

Like I said I'm prepared to be told I'm being precious but it just annoys me.

I couldn't get worked up by this, he could just have muched seen it at a friends house

They really shouldn’t be doing that, in fact as far as I know this would count as a public screening so they shouldn’t even be playing normal DVDs (I think they may need a licence actually - schools and oil rigs definitely do if I remember the old video warnings 😂). Downloading films that aren’t even released yet is seriously dodgy ground and setting a bad example for the kids too.

We watched pirated videos (actual videos Wink) at holiday clubs when I was a kid in the 90s.

The Greatest Showman is already out on DVD, so how do you know it's not a purchased DVD?
