AIBU to wonder why the Govt is about to remove protection for Local Wildlife sites?

Well done for raising this, it is so important. They want to remove all protection for AONBs and National Parks as well.

It is all down to lobbying from the developers.

Does it affect the entire uk or is it for England?

I'm only asking because the first link have different names (as shown below) and the petition only seems to cover England.

that does mean if all areas are affected the petition only helps English sites which means all other areas are under particular threat.

What's in a name?

These sites are named differently across the UK.

England Local Wildlife Site
Isle of Man Manx Wildlife Site
Northern Ireland Site of Local Nature Conservation Importance
Scotland Local Nature Conservation Site
Wales Site of Importance for Nature Conservation

There can be local variations too eg: County Wildlife Site, SINC, Site of Nature Conservation Importance.
