Posting here for traffic.

We have chickens. All great. Except last year when I did the yearly chicken order I was a bit tipsy and we now have 20 chickens. We're getting 20 eggs a day!!

Give me some egg heavy recipes please people!

Been making lots of quiches, egg salad and giving them away but it seems to daft to give them away when we pay a sodding fortune for organic food and spend so much time taking care of them.

I miss having chickens so I'd buy half a dozen off of somebody who had too many, you can't beat the taste of freshly laid eggs from free roaming chickens.

A frittata uses 8 eggs and as said above, we used them for waffles and pancakes for breakfast, lots of cakes, omelettes, poached eggs on toast. Yorkshire puddings and toad in the hole somehow taste much better with eggs just picked up.

Oh how much I would love to live somewhere near you...

bellabasset · 09/05/2018 15:57

Definitely sell them as there is a limit to how much you can freeze. Is there a local farm shop or deli or Saturday market who could sell them for you if you don't.want to sell at the gate. Seen ads on fb locally.for fresh eggs.

Shakshuka is one of my favourites, I use 6 eggs at a time but you could easily stretch to 8 :)

Make a huge big jar of pickled eggs.

Yes to pickled eggs, and what about oeufs a la neige? That is poached meringue in egg custard. Yum, and talking about egg custard, how about real custard? Custard tarts? And delicious real ice cream made with a custard base. In years gone by I believe they used to preserve raw eggs in isinglass.

Same here but only 4 productive hens.

Angel food cake uses a lot of egg whites.
Make the Mary Berry lemon curd one to make use of the spare yolks!

Yorkshire puddings! I put 4 in there...

It’s a lot of eggs to eat in a week. I don’t think The Rock eats 140 a week... well, maybe...
