I opened my eyes and there he was. Usually happy to cohabit but he was trying to get in bed with me ffs! So he's outside - it's not cold and maybe he'll find Mrs incey out there

If that was in my bed I would have straight up moved out of the house

harriethoyle · 08/05/2018 23:09

Astonished your house is not a smoking ruin. Mine would have been burnt to the ground! Grin

MissReginaPhilange · 08/05/2018 23:11

@Harriet glad its not just me .... I try not to react In front of the kids....but my 5 year old came down the stairs the other day with the biggest Mr skinny legs on the back of his hand. I legged it out of the room. He was most amused

I like spiders - I used to be terrified but worked with them (indirectly) for a bit and am genuinely fascinated. This one made me jump and was literally a foot away from my face. I have enormous tube webs in my kitchen and I luffs them because they keep flies and wasps out but this was in my bedroom!

My house seems to attract huge spiders. No idea why I'm scared of them. I would never ever kill one however. I may just be a big girls blouse as moths also give me the heebies.

YoThePussy · 08/05/2018 23:18

Is so wrong, should not be the season for big spiders. I have a fat one with a sturdy body and chubby legs in my sitting room at present and had a dinner plate like one stomp up the bed at me last week.

WeWere0nABreak · 08/05/2018 23:19

What the actual fuck is that? Argh!!!!

MissReginaPhilange · 08/05/2018 23:54

Should see the size of.the ones in my bloody house. I swear they have saddles on their backs for other spiders to hop on.
My old house I found a false widow spider. .Actually moved house a couple of months after when we found somewhere Blush

PickAChew · 08/05/2018 23:55

That's several fine pairs of legs he has.

anon99827 · 09/05/2018 00:42

MissReginaPhilange · 09/05/2018 00:43

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 09/05/2018 01:27

He was trying to get into bed with you? Maybe he thinks you were future Mrs Incey.

Granted he should have asked first, but from the look of him I think hed want to cuddle after.

Tattycorum · 09/05/2018 03:27

Ooh I spent my childhood in Devon and vividly remember these!

TheMaddHugger · 09/05/2018 04:30

Haha. I love them too. Living in Oz one either has incredible house insurance [in case of fire Wink ;)] or puts up with them

I also love spiders. I used to be married to an arachnologist. My favourite incident involved DD1. We'd been camping, she was 4, and crept into the bag of bedding when we got home. She shot straight out again when she found the tiniest black spider! 😂😂😂😂😂

lljkk · 09/05/2018 04:57

cool pic. Love spiders!

Oldsu · 09/05/2018 05:13

My friend in the US sent me a picture of a wolf spider, she gets a lot of them in her house, I screamed and ran out of the room when I saw it - deleted the picture but it looked like this - urrgggg

Love spiders. Yes they can freak me out a bit if they’re massive or particularly scuttly, but I never, ever, kill them and hate people who do just because they’re afraid of them. They have as much right to inhabit this planet as any other species, including us, ffs.

OtterInDisgrace · 09/05/2018 05:20

Oh, the wonderful dancing spider. amazing, if a tad anthropomorphised:

Ahhhhhhhhhhh thanks all not sleeping tonight.

CaptainCabinets · 09/05/2018 23:22

Nope BYE

I remember buying a bag of bananas a few years ago and a MASSIVE, grey, hairy beast crawled out of there. He swiftly disappeared and I couldn’t relax for weeks! The bananas came from Brazil, I wonder if Senhor Spider is still out there, roaming around my old house...Blush
