Mat leave is great for box sets but I can't stand this genuine upset I feel when I finish watching one. Today I finished Dowton Abbey. I already really miss it.

What to watch next??

I have been binge watching recently, Loved Downton, and I too get caught up with the characters and miss them when "they go" Gilmore Girls is good, bit of an out there one I just watched was Lark rise to Candleford, (Mr Bates from Downton is in it, so is Dawn French)

EeeSheWasThin · 04/05/2018 21:42

Grey’s Anatomy, Nashville, West Wing (still fab even though it’s years old!).

I know what you mean, I really miss watching something when it finishes.

Carolwithane · 04/05/2018 21:48

Forsythe Saga?

PoptartPoptart · 04/05/2018 22:13

I was properly bereft when I finished Breaking Bad.
I am actually jealous of people who haven’t seen it yet!

crispysausagerolls · 04/05/2018 22:21

Oh.my.god. I forced DH to watch this last month (really against his will). He was SOBBING by the last episode, and totally bereft at it being over. It has left a huge void in his life (mine less so as I was rewatching). Would LOVE to know what else is out there that's similar!

PumpkinPie2016 · 04/05/2018 22:23

YANBU - I love Downton - so much in fact that we are re-watching the box set from the beginning at the moment!

AiryFairy1 · 04/05/2018 22:27

Err I’ve had to rewatch it (entire series incl Christmas specials) about 4 times. And enjoyed it as much ...laughed and cried in the same places each time too [blush/not blush- I love it that much!!!]

ConfusedWife1234 · 04/05/2018 22:28

I started watching grand hotel but discontinued because I lacked the time. It has a gazillion of episodes.
However I liked it and it has been compared to Downton Abbey by some.
Should I tell you my dirty little secret: I might be the only women on this planet who did not watch the full downton abbey series because my dh hated it so much. I wanted to make him watch downton abbey with him (he made me watch pacific rim and stuff like this a gazillion of times, so it would have been just fair)... but nope, he hated it.

AIBU to ask: did I miss much?

RedDwarves · 04/05/2018 22:31

I only started watching it recently. I'm up to the flower show where Violet's nice side comes out and she reads out Bill Molesley's name as the winner, instead of her own.

Waiting for Netflix AU to update Call the Midwife, because I'm all caught up on that and it's my fav.

LBOCS2 · 04/05/2018 22:41

Ooh, yes - Forsythe Saga is a good shout.

I've mostly been rewatching Grey's recently. I love it.

DuggeeHugs · 04/05/2018 23:20

YANBU! I've just finished watching it for the first time too and I loved it. Now watching it again since I'm still on mat leave and have loads of decorating to finish

ToadOfSadness · 04/05/2018 23:52

I am hoping to watch Downton from the start. I recently caught up with Call the Midwife, had missed the early ones. I have Mr. Selfridge to plough through, not sure I will last the course.

I am sad to have got to the end of The Royal and not happy about the ending. I missed Heartbeat too and Where the Heart Is, I had a life in those days and didn't watch TV, now the old programmes are what I look forward to at the end of the day, before I nod off.

CaptainCabinets · 05/05/2018 00:00

I’ve got 3 episodes of Sons of Anarchy left to watch and I haven’t a fucking clue what I’ll do when I finish it (maybe actually do some uni work?....nah)

optimuss · 05/05/2018 00:16

I've just finished rewatching Downton too and I'm gutted! I did it in way too short a space of time too..

pinkflamingo121318 · 05/05/2018 00:22

I felt like this after watching Reign. It was on Netflix but taken off now.

I feel like I'm mourning it, even though i finished in February!

I find myself looking at Instagram pictures and clips because I miss it haha! Never felt like that over w programme before!

ethelfleda · 05/05/2018 10:43

AIBU to ask: did I miss much?

Yes you did! I watched it alone as I didn't think DH would like it very much. I actually think I might start watching it again!
I was also gutted when I finished breaking bad!

Well, I typically do not watch a lot of TV when I am not with hubby but I might start watching it.
