Than homemade hummus?

Seriously, i chuck the ingredients in my nutribullet and eat with carrot sticks or straight off the spoon.

It's absolutely delicious plus really healthy.

Care to share other super healthy moreish ideas?

yes home made hummus is delish but you cant live on hummus with carrot sticks

WhiteCoyote · 04/05/2018 12:47

Salmon. I could, no exaggeration, live off it. Any way, smoked, baked, fried. Unfortunately I can only afford it once a week as a treat. Grin

bruffin · 04/05/2018 12:47

Not really ds allergic to 2 ingredients, could kill him.

adaline · 04/05/2018 12:48

I love apple slices dipped in peanut butter.

isseywithcats · 04/05/2018 12:49

jacket sweet potatoes are my idea of healthy heaven, with cheese and coleslaw on top food of the gods

MyOtherUsernameisaPun · 04/05/2018 12:49

That sounds amazing OP, send it my way!

I'm a huge fan of broccoli smothered in garlic and a little olive oil, baked until it's properly crispy, and then doused in lemon juice. I could eat that forever!

DairyisClosed · 04/05/2018 12:49

Chickpeas aren't that good for you in large quantities.

SpanxOnLetsGo · 04/05/2018 12:50

Eggs

Bambamber · 04/05/2018 12:50

We love making yogurt bark. My DD has multiple allergies and we are keeping added sugar to a minimum so it's a perfect thing to make especially now the weather is warming up

halfwitpicker · 04/05/2018 12:51

Just boiled eggs, salt, yum.
Baked sweet potato, feta, salad, red onion, balsamic dressing.

BrightonCalling · 04/05/2018 12:51

@SpanxOnLetsGo

Mmm, yes, even in their least glamorous form (boiled): rolled in a little salt and paprika with the yolk still gooey...

Otherusernameisapun

Try your recipe but with cauliflower. Heaven.

ChickenOrEgg6 · 04/05/2018 12:52

I fucking hate hummus.

Anyone got garlic bread? Wink Grin

LaGattaNera · 04/05/2018 12:52

Yes eggs - so nutritious, so versatile, easy to digest and fantastic source of protein, I always feel well after eggs and full without feeling overfull or uncomfortable.

ppeatfruit · 04/05/2018 12:52

Everyone is different, I HATE houmous, it blows out my stomach like a balloon ,it's in every effing thing!!!! I swear that most supermarkets have shares in the chickpea fields Grin

Tahini on its own, you can froth it up. (not mixed with chickpeas) much nicer and can be used in the same way , I made a white bean and tahini dip yesterday that's lovely !!!!

nothruroad · 04/05/2018 12:53

Why are chickpeas not that good in large quantities? I thought they were good for protein.

BrightonCalling · 04/05/2018 12:53

@halfwitpicker
I cant get on board with sweet potato, its alright but dont love it like many seem to. Find it a bit sickly. But yes - red onion feta and vinegar with cherry tomatoes...

OP posts:
PoisonousSmurf · 04/05/2018 12:54

Green pitted olives, sliced cherry tomatoes, a selection of fresh salad leaves from garden and some chopped up babybell cheese all smothered in basil infused olive oil.
Great summer lunch treat!

EleanorHooverbelt · 04/05/2018 12:54

So long as it's not overloaded with oil. You could overdo the fibre though!

ppeatfruit · 04/05/2018 12:54

Me too Chicken Grin

Yes I prefer good organic eggs too LaGatta .

partdeux · 04/05/2018 12:54

I read the title and thought to myself "hummus" , opened the thread expecting it to ne something else!
I've just made it myself for the first time and honestly I could eat this for lunch every day!!!
So good! Mine is with red peppers and cilli

BrightonCalling · 04/05/2018 12:55

Same with butternut squash. Hate that shit! Not a fan of any fibrous, sweet veg.

BarbaraofSevillle · 04/05/2018 12:55

Augment your carrots and hummus with falafels, leaves and a pitta.

Chickpeas aren't that good for you in large quantities

Are they not? Why?

I would have thought that, if someone had a really restricted diet for whatever reason and only ate carrots and hummus, it would be well up there as a reasonably nutritious diet, full of fat, protein, carbs and vitamins, healthier than diets where people ate a greater variety but of less nutritous foods.

Craftylittlething · 04/05/2018 12:55

I started slimming world a few months back, savoury snacks, boiled eggs salt and pepper. And mackerel (I’m popular at work Grin)
Sweet vanilla quark and berries. I’ve discovered I really enjoy these foods. Definitely adding Apple and peanut butter to my list.

BrightonCalling · 04/05/2018 12:55

@partdeux
It bears quite literally no resemblance to shop bought humus, taste wise!
