Got to work this morning and realised I have got dressed in black trousers, black top and cardigan, but due to the kerfuffle with getting children out the house have put tan shoes on, I have exactly the same pair in black.

I now keep seeing my feet and annoying myself.

What's wrong with tan and black? They go together fine IMO!

CaffeineAndCrochet · 04/05/2018 11:53

Act like it's intentional. I often wear mostly black apart from a pair of pink shoes.

mummabeargrr · 04/05/2018 11:54

Pink would be fine, or red or green. I just think they look so silly!

What shoes are everyone else wearing? Bet you haven't noticed.

pigsDOfly · 04/05/2018 11:57

That's nothing OP. I knew someone who had two pairs of shoes in the same style - she worked with children so needed to be comfortable.

Rushing out of the house one morning she hurriedly stuck her feet into what she thought was a pair of shoes; wasn't till she got to work she realized that one was black and one was brown. Had to spend the whole day in odd shoes.

ilovesooty · 04/05/2018 11:57

Is anyone really going to pay much attention to your feet provided your shoes are clean and polished?

mummabeargrr · 04/05/2018 12:01

I doubt for one second anyone has noticed my feet what so ever!! Yes they're clean and tidy, they just keep irritating me! I suppose I could use it as an excuse to go and buy a new pair ....

I once turned up for work (meeting clients by appointment all day, 25 miles from home,) in smart top and dog-walking joggers!

MarklahMarklah · 04/05/2018 12:20

Pigs I've done that. I had two pairs of boots in the same style - one dark brown, one black. Thought I'd put the black ones on, then got to work to discover I had one of each. I spent as much of the day as I could sitting at my desk.

MyOtherUsernameisaPun · 04/05/2018 12:22

My colleague spent the whole day on Monday (including 2 client meetings and an appearance in court) wearing mismatched shoes so I wouldn't worry about it!

ThymeLord · 04/05/2018 12:24

I am really confused. Since when do black and tan not go together? Am I hideously out of touch?

mummabeargrr · 04/05/2018 12:28

@ThymeLord I am sure they do go together, I just fed really odd as I am all in black with very pale shoes - I feel top heavy almost. Just my own oddity!

Looks like an awful lot of people get dressed in a bit of hurry in the morning Grin

ThymeLord · 04/05/2018 12:30

mummabear that's OK then, as long as I am not committing a fashion faux-pas every time I leave the house Grin

blueskyinmarch · 04/05/2018 12:31

I wear black with tan shoes all the time. I think it looks good and breaks up all the monotonous black.

bumblingbovine49 · 04/05/2018 12:43

Last week, I was rushing out of the house and got in the car to drive to work,. Halfway there I noticed I had plastic crocs on (I was weering them to do a bit of early morning weeding in the garden).

I really could not go to work with plastic crocs on my feet so was about to turn back despite the fact I would have been late for work.

Luckily I remembered I had some other shoes in the boot. They were converse which were not really suitable either and bright red which did not go with my green/blue outfit but I decided I could live with them for the day if it meant I wouldn't be late.

Just foget about them op. It will be fine for a day :)

amusedbush · 04/05/2018 13:13

I once went to the toilet at work and struggled to get my leggings back up. When I looked down I realised I was wearing Hello Kitty pyjama shorts under them BlushGrin

EnglishRose13 · 04/05/2018 13:40

My old boss once put two different shoes on after grabbing them in the dark. He rocked them for the rest of the day.

Own it.
