Just that really. I would like to think that my life could change and would like to hear stories of how others lives have changed unexpectedly or to the surprise of others and how. Was it by luck or chance? Did something happen? Did you do something to change your life? What?
Would like to hear people’s stories ...

Why?

Hmm Do your own research and write your own article

Sigh. I wondered if I would get this response. Not writing an article, it’s just for personal inspiration, hope. Doesn’t need to be spectacular or unique, in fact less so the better. So wouldn’t make a particularly interesting article!

Bit harsh Whisky!

No advice OP but will watch this thread with interest as my life is at a crossroads right now and seriously considering a massive change.

I suppose I did in a way left school quit my a levels halfway through, worked minimum wage type jobs.
At 20 I realised I wanted to try to get to uni, went back to college then uni.
Once I’d finished I got a assistant level job for the government, promoted 3 times and had work published.
I’m now doing an MA.
So glad I went back to college when I did.

Personally I don't believe in sitting around waiting for that positive change. It's perhaps not what you want to hear ;)

I moved to England 10 years ago. That was a change I decided and that I made happen. It was bloody hard!

I was living with a man who beat me and forced me into prostitution. He hit me with a metal bar, I ran away, was homeless, an addict; got myself clean by leaving the city I was in and living with friends, 4 years later I've got a nice home, a dog and I'm having a baby in October.
