About the peddling on Instagram of 'educational' aids??

I am incensed in particular by Mrs wordsmith who advertises over priced vocabulary cards, allegedly developed by 'Cambridge data scientists' teachers and linguists and uses the word chiselled to describe the jaw, muscles I think, and other body parts. When I have commented to complain the response has been sheer disbelief that this could be remotely problematic. When I have challenged in the comments to say what professional has developed this, apparently there are teachers linguists and data scientists on board. None of whom are named or contactable.

Who regulates this rubbish? Why is it OK to flog this as educational? This is yet another example of instamummery flogging at its worst. Anyone else noticed similar out there??

Instagram is the land of peddling shit to people thick enough to buy said shit. If people are stupid enough to buy stuff, there'll always be someone there cashing in.

I think instagram is just damaging altogether. It's just perfect filtered pic after perfect filtered pic. Why not just delete your account and use twitter?

I've seen the Mrs Wordsmith ads pop up in my FB feed in the past so I get the ones you're on about. Doesn't bother me that much though if people are daft enough to pay for them really.

Education has always been a prime ground for pedalling ridiculous things promised as miracle aids for all test results, dodgy pseudo-science (cough Brain Gym cough), and old stuff rebranded with the font changed slightly promising brand new miracles.
