mummylin2495 · 15/05/2007 11:39

welcome. You will find this website full of good hearted people always willing to help someone is desperate times. You will also come across the debates which get extremely heated sometimes. But its great !!!!

funnypeculiar · 15/05/2007 11:40

hello & welcome to mn ... I think the general advice is just get stuck in - everything else is pretty self-explanatory.

As you may guess from some of todays' thread titles, some of the debate on here can get rather more, ahem, heated than some other parenting sites, so a thick skin & a sense of humour are useful things to have about you!

DragonFaerie · 15/05/2007 11:41

Welcome KT!
My biggest piece of advice would be "step away from your pc very slowly, the effects of MN are highly addictive" !
Seriously.

It is sooooooooooooooooo addictive.

Welcome to your new addiction!

MaureenMLove · 15/05/2007 11:41

Hello My advice think carefully before you post for advice! You will get opinions of all kinds! If you are prone to being easily upset, don't post it!!

ktmoomoo · 15/05/2007 11:42

Hi there

Make sure you have a look at the acronym list at the top, its a list of all abbreviations that we use.

Find a thread and jump on. I definately second what dragon faerie said, MN is a huge addiction.

Hello

MN is divided into a bunch of different topics
so when you post you can put it in the most appropriate one to help other people who are interested in the same things find it.
Eg if you have a nappy question, post it in Nappies and potty training , or if you just want to chat, try Chat ...

Writing posts that are easy for other people to understand (spelling, grammar, capital letters, pressing return occasionally etc ) means more people will take the time to read your posts.

contentiouscat · 15/05/2007 11:56

Hi & welcome

Some people get very emotional about:

Mother & baby parking - always starts a disabled v mother & baby slanging match
Bratz Dolls - apparently look like hookers
Fruit shoots & "junk" food in general
If you are better mum if you Stay at home or work

Avoid all unless you want to start a bunfight (which can be fun) - LOL

Great fun if you can have a laugh about it! Most people are very nice but there are a few nutters.

contentiouscat · 15/05/2007 11:57

Oh dont type in capitals unless you are SHOUTING
