Don't kit weird is the right word.

One of mine is.. I can't eat a yoghurt or cold dessert with a metal tea spoon. It has to be a plastic picnic one. Not the disposable ones the thicker type.

gggrrrargh I did the same, as a kid with any sweet that had multiple colours. Like smarties etc.

JiminyBillyBob · 04/05/2018 13:07

Pretending I'm a bomb disposal expert by stopping the microwave when it's got just one or two seconds to go

I absolutely LOVE this and plan to start doing it immediately 😁

Clandestino · 04/05/2018 13:12

I dissect my food and eat the items separately. Can't eat the cream and the cake base together, have to have it separate.
I also hate soggy crispy stuff so no curry or cheesy chips for me. Only exception is buttered toast. But beans on a plate of full Irish, God help me, never. Any sauces, mayo or ketchup, the same.
I also hate stuff sticking out of a pile or something, it's just awful. And anything cut in a weird shape.

halfwitpicker · 04/05/2018 13:13

OK so from this thread I'm not ocd. I check that the oven is off more than once and that's about it.

DramaAtTheTurkeyCafe · 04/05/2018 13:21

I don't think there's anything that I "can't" do (apart from things I physically can't do). I definitely prefer even numbers of biscuits, unlike a previous poster. I feel like if I have an odd number I'll keep going back for more - but I don't actually feel panicky or anything like that.

My biggest eccentricity is probably that I hate the thought of always doing something in a routine way, so I sometimes go out of my way to vary it even if I don't like the other way as much. I sometimes find myself sitting on the same seat in the bus several times in a row and then my brain goes, "oh no, can't let this become a habit that's hard to break, sit somewhere else today!"

Angie169 · 04/05/2018 13:40

reading this post made me think oooh there are some unusual habits out there , I dont have any . Then picked up my once a week treat a danish pastry wheel and un rolled it and broke it up into bite sized bits before I started eating it . and realised I do this every time without even thinking about it , Can I join your club please .

DBoo · 04/05/2018 13:51

i press the skin around my finger nails on every finger every so often - im talking daily. Probably more if i'm nervous or not paying attention. It is a bit of a routine. Not sure why or when it started - i've always done it as far as i know.

MyMarmitePurrs · 04/05/2018 14:46

My shopping list has to be in the same order as the supermarket aisles - to the point where, if I'm listing what I need from the tins aisle and I suddenly realise I didn't put lettuce etc in the right place on the list, I have to start it again ! Sometimes it can take me longer to write the list than actually do the bloody shopping !!!!

Soundsgood · 04/05/2018 20:21

MyMarmitePurrs

I would have to draw a grid of the aisles with the category of each aisle written in each box, then write in there. It may save time.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 04/05/2018 21:13

MyMarmitePurrs That actually makes so much sense. I’m forever running around the aisles (no shopping list) trying to think of what I need then forgetting once I’ve passed etc. Although I do most of my shopping online if I’m doing it in person and could remember the layout this would be a good way to write the list.

Lifeisabeach09 · 04/05/2018 21:32

I rub the fabric of my coat whenever I'm wearing it. Love the coldness and texture. I'm constantly feeling it up! Must look weird. Grin

Yogafailure · 04/05/2018 21:34

I hate glass mugs, especially smoked glass shudder I'm also deeply suspicious of mugs with coloured insides yuck

tinkywinkyshandbag · 04/05/2018 21:41

You're all complete weirdos!!!

Takfujuimoto · 04/05/2018 21:41

I can not yawn silently, I always, always end it with a little operatic encore, drives DH mad.

If I start to stretch it nearly always every time ends up as a full 5 min body stretch accompanied with almost very orgasmic sounds.Blush I like love stretching.

Always have to walk on DHs right, it just feels all wrong the other side.

FrogPie · 04/05/2018 22:04

I do the syllable tapping thing with words too, I also find the opposite happens e.g. you know that jingle they sometimes put on in lifts or if you’re on hold? I find the syllables and make words/a song, though it has to be on topic e.g. if we’re in a lift it has to be ‘I’m in a lift, going up’ etc. Blush

If I’m wearing a certain colour e.g. blue t-shirt, I need to wear blue shoes. If I have no colour that matches I have to wear that colour knickers and socks to counteract it.

I have to have subtitles on while I watch Netflix. Volume must be at a multiple of five.

Jessikita · 04/05/2018 22:37

Another one hear that doesn’t like wet food. If I have a fry up I have to have the beans in a separate ramakin.

I like to put chocolate in my mouth then take a sip of hot tea to melt it.

Any volume gauge has to be on an even number or it drives me mad.

I like to dig my fingernails into the gum around my two front teeth.

JiminyBillyBob · 05/05/2018 02:40

If I take a drink of anything cold I do 13 swallows and count in my head as I go.

sueelleker · 05/05/2018 07:50

I hate pyrex cups/mugs. We were on the Norfolk Broads once, and the boat came with pyrex cups and saucers. Had to buy some china mugs in a nearby market.
