Don't kit weird is the right word.

One of mine is.. I can't eat a yoghurt or cold dessert with a metal tea spoon. It has to be a plastic picnic one. Not the disposable ones the thicker type.

I can’t eat cheese with any butter or sauce, it makes me feel physically sick.

I also can’t drink out of plastic cups, I hate it. Like kids plastic cups. I think they taste weird.

SuperL · 28/04/2018 21:59

If I touch something randomly with one body part, I have to try to do the same with the other. For example, I just rubbed my right thumb on our bedhead. I think had to rub my left thumb on the bedhead so it felt the same way.

EarlGreyT · 28/04/2018 23:04

@lambdroid me neither. It’s just wrong.

livelyredjellybean · 28/04/2018 23:25

I spell words or sentences in my head, tensing and relaxing my thigh muscles with each letter. If it’s not an even number of letters I keep spelling or use unnecessary punctuation to make it even.

I watch tv with subtitles on.

I also do the “if it happens to a body part on one side I try to even it out on the other “.

Queenoftheblitz · 28/04/2018 23:58

I have a snackbox by my bed. I have sweets, crisps, nuts, dates and biscuits plus chocolate in there in case i need a bedtime snack. It needs replenishing.

Alwayssearching · 29/04/2018 00:02

Wow didn't expect this to still be going

I also have to moisturise my feet every night then not walk on carpet. So if I forget to do something I send dp lol.

Fuel has to be in round pounds.
And so does my bank. I couldn't have say £12.45 I'd have to debit card the 45p on a random item..

tea (dinner/supper) tastes nicer with a blue spoon.

we have sensory issues so no metal on ceramic here at all as it causes pain inears radiating down neck and back.

washing can be hung any way it likes though, as long as it dries properly.

shatteredmama · 29/04/2018 01:09

Pretending I'm a bomb disposal expert by stopping the microwave when it's got just one or two seconds to go.

sadiekate · 29/04/2018 01:20

If I have a tune in my head, I'll find myself tapping out the recorder fingering for it with my hands. Often I'll notice myself doing this while I'm cuddling DP. He must just think I'm tapping in a really odd fashion !

FrancisUnderwood · 29/04/2018 01:44

I only ever wear odd socks. I've done this for YEARS. If I need a pair of black socks, i'll take them from different pairs, say a slightly different thread count or material or weave.

If I absolutely HAVE to wear a matching pair of socks (say thick welly socks), i'll always wear an odd pair underneath them to counteract the match.

I actually spend time unpairing matching socks and finding an 'odd match' to put them with.

If I'm waiting at traffic lights, I count the cars coming through from the opposite direction; to find out how many "benefit" from me being stopped.

My DH and I do Easter egg hunts for each other, and give each other Advent calendars which have doors for small gifts. (Like with my birthday presents, I like it if he sets them up in front of me while I'm blindfolded!)

HunterHearstHelmsley · 29/04/2018 07:21

I have to eat things in even numbers and can't leave an odd amount of something in a packet. If there's three biscuits left I won't have any. If I leave any food on my plate, or drop a (e.g.) Skittle. I have to leave more or drop another Skittle so they're not on their own.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 29/04/2018 07:24

I can't wear odd socks. I've tried and it stresses me out for the whole day. When I lived with my sister, she always wears odd socks and would nick mine. If I couldn't find a pair (often), I'd either have to totally change what I was wearing so I could be sockless or have to go to the supermarket on my way out to purchase socks.

ForalltheSaints · 29/04/2018 07:25

Sitting on the left side of a train, theatre, cinema and church.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 29/04/2018 07:29

I go jogging every day. At certain road crossings or points en route I have touch the left hand side of my head twice. I feel like if I don't bad things will happen to my family.

I don't know why I do this and even I think it's faintly ridiculous but there you are.

candlefloozy · 29/04/2018 07:37

I lick all the flavouring off crisps before eating them.

EnglishRose13 · 29/04/2018 07:54

I do the same with coloured pegs too!

Also, I can't eat beans on toast. I eat beans and toast. One quick dip and then eat. I cannot stand sogginess.

Shrodingerslion · 29/04/2018 08:19

Agree with this. Hate it when its piled on top. Ugh

I also touch things with my other hand to make it even too.

ilovepixie · 29/04/2018 08:28

I was going to say you lot are weird but started thinking and I do the writing words thing I've heard on my thumb too. I have hot chocolate every night before bed and it's always in a special cup and I heat the milk in the microwave in a special separate cup and hate if anyone uses my cups. I count things in my head like steps for example.
So I'm weird too lol.

Skinnyboneylittlepony · 29/04/2018 08:31

I brush my teeth in the shower.

mavismcruet · 29/04/2018 08:41

I talk to my cat. A lot. Using made up words. I do it really quietly or when I’m alone with the cat. I’d like to think my dh doesn’t know but I’ve a feeling he does Blush

gggrrrargh · 29/04/2018 08:49

I have to eat jelly tots by taking them all out of the bag and lining them up in their colours. Then I have to eat one of each row until a colour has finished, just so I can see what colour has the most.

it started as I noticed one colour always seemed to be more prevalent than the others so i was testing that out. I can tell you that every single bag I've eaten, the same colour wins every time. I thought about writing to the company and asking why that was.. Blush

kissbeforelippy · 29/04/2018 09:04

When I'm walking with someone I have to have them on my right side otherwise it feels weird. The only exception is when I'm with my son and I'll walk on the road side of the pavement to shield him from traffic. However, as soon as we can, we cross the road so that he is on my right again.

I love this thread. It's made me feel safe!

Hellohello04 · 29/04/2018 09:11

When walking along I have to touch the floor every now and then, I pretend I’ve dropped something! I also have the urge to touch walls at intervals but that is easier to pass off!
