Don't kit weird is the right word.

One of mine is.. I can't eat a yoghurt or cold dessert with a metal tea spoon. It has to be a plastic picnic one. Not the disposable ones the thicker type.

I watch TV with subtitles on
Can't sleep without socks on
Do everything in exactly the same order in the morning even down to makeup
Go to the toilet twice before going to sleep Confused

Topseyt · 28/04/2018 02:36

I used to be the same about usi g same coloured pegs to hang out each laundry item.

All my colourful plastic pegs have now broken though, and been replaced with strong wooden ones, so I can't do that anymore.

Topseyt · 28/04/2018 02:39

I also often watch TV with the subtitles on because the soundtracks at just such poor quality and the actors just mumble.

NancyDonahue · 28/04/2018 07:53

Subtitles here too.
TV volume can't be on 13.
I stop the microwave at 9 seconds.

okilydokily · 28/04/2018 08:05

Sometimes a phrase I've just heard, on TV or something someone has just said, gets stuck in my head and I silently repeat it to myself whilst "tapping out" the syllables on the fingers of my right hand, starting from the thumb and going to my pinky, then back to the thumb. The phrase has to finish on the thumb, so if it's got more or fewer than 9 syllables I have to re-start tapping on another finger until I work out how to start it so that the tapping ends on the thumb. I only told DH about this recently; he thinks it's totally bizarre!

IAmMatty · 28/04/2018 08:06

If I have one wet hand, I have to get the other one wet before I dry them on a towel. Confused

BlondeB83 · 28/04/2018 08:14

okilydokily I do that too!

BlondeB83 · 28/04/2018 08:14

Left hand though!

SeraphinaDombegh · 28/04/2018 08:32

@IamMatty me too! A towel on a dry hand feels all kinds of wrong.

wanderings · 28/04/2018 09:50

I like to be there while my presents are wrapped - I remember hating being sent out of the room for this as a child. Even now, I feel cheated if it's done in my absence! So my lovely DH always wraps my prezzies with me by his side. I have to pay the small price of being blindfolded, which means I can't see what they are! Sad Actually I really love this and look forward to it all year.

okilydokily · 28/04/2018 09:54

@BlondeB83 no way! It's soothing, isn't it? Sometimes, if I'm feeling extravagant, I'll start on my left pinky and do left hand then right then backwards to the left again. Maybe it's because I used to play piano??

WhatsGoingOnEh · 28/04/2018 09:59

I do this too! Well, I draw the letters of the word/phrase onto my right thumb, using my right index finger. So it's sort of the same. I can't stop till I've finished it.

chewablemunchkin · 28/04/2018 10:00

If I eat m&ms or skittles I have to eat them in colour order from lightest to darkest.
Also my TV volume has to be on an even number or a multiple of 5.

ChocAuVin · 28/04/2018 10:11

Alwayssearching I’m exactly the same with cotton wool balls Shock and also, bizarrely, holding warm packages of food Hmm e.g. a hot parcel of fish and chips — I could not even carry that with gloves on! Super duper cray-cray odd.

Otherwise I’m a fairly balanced individual with a rep for being easygoing Grin

PlaydoughBarbershop · 28/04/2018 10:44

My favourite thread ever! I have met my people!!!!! I have subtitles on too and it drives everybody mad. I have to eat things in odd numbers. So if having a sweet or biscuit, I will eat one, then if I fancy another, I need to take 2 so that the total number eaten is odd and so on. It's a killer for slimming world! Also have to cross a road using an odd number of steps. If I get to the kerb and the number of steps are even, I have to do some dodgy little quick step shuffle to add another step in Blush Can only imagine what it must look like

wanderings · 28/04/2018 10:49

When I get out of bed, my footwear of choice is not always slippers, but ballet flats, sandals, trainers, whatever I feel like putting on, and always without socks.

BBTHREE76 · 28/04/2018 18:32

OMG I have never found a thread where I felt like I belonged this much before 👍🏻. I think most of my ‘quirks’ have been listed..... pegs on washing line must match! - same colour, same distance. I don’t like my food ‘touching’ on the plate. I never use a large spoon for desert or pudding, always a teaspoon. I have a clean teaspoon of my own when I make a cup of tea, even if I am making other people a cup of tea. I can’t sleep in a creased or messy bed, so I restraighten it and shake/plump pillows every night before getting in. I clean my ears with cotton buds as part of drying myself from shower. I wear flip flops instead of slippers. I could never ever wear odd socks. I don’t like hoods on coats.

BBTHREE76 · 28/04/2018 18:35

Ooohhh at petrol must land an a full number. So if I meant to £10.00 in, but was just over on £10.02, I would keep going to put £15.00 in. (I also only ever put petrol in in £10s or £5s which I have now realised is very odd as I could stop on £11) 😳

Comealongpond89 · 28/04/2018 18:58

The t.v. volume has to be on an even number or a multiple of 5. I eat fries in pairs. When I have ready to eat prawns from Tesco I eat them smallest to biggest. When I have meals I have to have a bit of everything on my fork

Muse84 · 28/04/2018 19:03

I often tap words I see with my toes, consonants with left foot and vowels on old righty.

If I scuff my foot on the pavement while walking, I have to do the same scuff (same pressure) with the other foot. Sonetimes I get it wrong and scuff too hard, so go back to scuffing the original foot with the level of pressure I think necessary to make them equal again

I don't do both all the time, just go through phases. And I promise that to the casual observer I walk like I normal person Grin

WhiteCoyote · 28/04/2018 19:04

I have a tea cup and a coffee cup. Coffee cannot go in the tea cup and tea cannot go in the coffee cup. I get overly upset if anyone else ever uses either cup.

I have to have a separate hand towel from the rest of the family. No ocd or bacteria worries or anything, I just do.

ChipInTheSugar · 28/04/2018 19:07

Muse I do that too with all sorts of accidental knocks and bumps!

Also, when I get in the bath, I HAVE to put my hands under the water for a bit, even if I know I'm going to pick up a book to read or my phone - I just can't keep them dry while the rest of my body is wet. It's fine once they've been wet and dried on the towel!

JiminyBillyBob · 28/04/2018 19:09

Okily - I do that too.

Sweetpea55 · 28/04/2018 19:14

If im pegging out washing i have to have dh socks all together and then mine at the furthest end of the line and build upto bigger things.
Like others..i must have matching coloured pegs on all double pegged items.

Abouttoblow · 28/04/2018 19:17

I can't eat square or rectangular sandwiches - only triangles. Also can't drink tea from a mug that has coffee written on it and vice versa with coffee.
