Husband moaning about having to take time off for my appointment

I'm 9 weeks pregnant. This is baby number 3 for us but we've had 3 losses along the way. I had a private scan at 6 weeks in a place next door to DHs job which he attended. I then had a scan at 8 weeks in my EPU but DH didn't come to that one. My 12 week scan is in 3 weeks and he's already bringing up the work card about taking time off ect as we only get home from holidays that week. He's in charge of a team and recently was telling me about one of the other guys on his team who went for a scan with his wife. I've no problem attending hospital appointments on my own but I feel the 12 and 20 week one is important so he should attend. AIBU to expect this? I'm also already hearing how he may not get a lot of time off for the birth as he wants to keep his holidays for Christmas off Hmm

Maybe he doesn’t want to get too attached given your previous losses? Speaking for myself, it wouldn’t have bothered me if DH hadn’t been there for the scans for DCs 2 & 3 - for me, it was always more important that he pulled his weight later on.

I get what your saying hadjab and he has told me that before in the past when I gave out about him not helping me get stuff for dd organized, my fear is what if something is wrong. I don't want to be sitting in that room on my own waiting for him to make his way over. No one else knows about the pregnancy and he wants to keep it quiet until after the scan

Even if he's afraid of something going wrong, it's quite horrible of him to make you face a potential loss or problem on your own. It's not on. He needs to put on his big boy pants and step up here.

Do you have any friends or family that could go with you? During my 3rd pregnancy my DH let my DM come with me so she could experience the scans, she loved it.
