Annoying things other posters do

Just wondering what things other posters do that really annoy you?

For me it's the deliberate misconstruing of an opening post and then flaming the OP for something they never actually said or implied.

Also the posters who conjure up wild scenarios to try and prove the OP is BU - "How do you know the woman who pushed you out of the way at the bus stop wasn't rushing home to her seriously ill child and has only 2p in her purse so couldn't afford a taxi. Try to be kinder and less self absorbed in future".

OP posts:
19lottie82 · 27/04/2018 10:43

Starting posts with “ummmmm” Angry

KC225 · 27/04/2018 10:44

Mine is people who jump on the uppity bandwagon and saying what has it got to so with you and calling the OP judgy missing the point of the thread.

Another is when a poster says SIL is cheating on my brother with two lemurs and a benefit cheat Jack Russell should I tell him. And people say stay out of it. Was shocked at the people saying stay out if it to the daughter when she found her father had been cheating on her mum, had a secret life and was about to swizzle the mum out of a settlement. Seriously - stay out of it!

ghostyslovesheets · 27/04/2018 10:44

oh and people report to HQ when others are abusive - if your post gets deleted maybe time to reflect on your 'posting style' rather than bleating about being reported to teacher!

qwertyuiopy · 27/04/2018 10:45

The teachers who come on and blame the OP purely because they are a parent. Their defensiveness is palpable...

You know who you are!

FallenAngel89 · 27/04/2018 10:46

For me it's groups that are supposed to be for everyone for pregnancy or whatever but you get blatantly ignored despite trying to join in with them or help/ ask questions. A bit cliquey and rude Hmm

ghostyslovesheets · 27/04/2018 10:47

oh and a new one - getting their own thread deleted because they don't like the responses - I have no idea why HQ has suddenly started doing this - never used to happen

Ezzie29 · 27/04/2018 10:47

When everyone is sharing funny stories and then someone comes on with something really sad. I feel like a bit of a cow for thinking it, but there’s a time and a place. I don’t like when people do this irl either.

GrimSqueaker · 27/04/2018 10:47

"Namechanged for this but I'm a long-time MN poster... penis beaker, bumsex at Center Parcs, naice ham, pom bears..."

So you could just have read all that shit on the Daily Mail's daily pilfering of social media couldn't you - it's not some secret fucking password to be taken seriously. Hell penis beaker made Women's Hour on R4.

Springnowplease · 27/04/2018 10:47

Saying "you know" in replies. Because, you know, it's annoying.

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2018 10:47

OP's who leave out the age of their children - it's nearly always relevant.

OP's who criticise Britain/The British but won't say what country they're from - it's often quite relevant.

OP's who post about their DP's hobby but won't tell us what it is, in case it's 'outing' - hardly ever relevant but still winds me up Grin

KC225 · 27/04/2018 10:48

And people always referencing Mexican House thief thread.

I have had it linked to me but that thread is about 26 pages and each time I got about 14 or 15 in and it wasn't there

Babyg1995 · 27/04/2018 10:48

The am I pregnant ones eh go and get a rest FFS Hmm

RoseWhiteTips · 27/04/2018 10:48

God, I hate that sort of thing. Basically, those people are trying to get into a ruck by opposing the clearly obvious reasons. It is tiresome and pointless.

Tanith · 27/04/2018 10:48

The posters who think cooking meals from scratch and sewing your own dresses is the way out of poverty.

There's a reason why these activities are now marketed as middle class hobbies.

MrsJayy · 27/04/2018 10:50

Oh I like the hobby it makes me chortle

BamBamIsALittleShit · 27/04/2018 10:50

Someone recounting the entire history of every single memorable mumsnet post to prove that they've been here forever and have just name changed. I wasn't here for penis beaker or cancel the cheque yet I can list them all like someone who's been here since day 1 - citing these threads proves nothing!

Posting in AIBU and getting pissed off when told resoundingly that yes, YABU!

Bloke OPs that get a horrible response just because they're blokes.

LTB over fuck all

People who make a thread all about them - e.g. The gardening one

The perpetually offended.

Golassee · 27/04/2018 10:51

Using mn as a personal assistant, not talking about things where it’s good to get a recommendation like a restaurant or a holiday restaurant but the help me do x my x y z is broken type thing, where if they googled it, it’s the first result on google!

'My husband is a vegetarian but he hates cheese, what can I feed him tonight?'

'Have you thought about a cheesy cheese steak with extra meat and cheese?'

BamBamIsALittleShit · 27/04/2018 10:51

Oh and everything Boden like it's some kind of stealth brag. Boden is rank and I don't care that you can afford it. Money doesn't buy taste!

Ohmydayslove · 27/04/2018 10:52

My favourite is sssuming wealth

So get a cleaner, have a spa weekend, treat yourself to a hair do, book a weekend away!!!

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2018 10:52

Posters who call others 'Cool wives' because they don't mind their DPs doing some things that other posters do mind.

Often followed up with the childish expression, 'What about the menz'.

qwertyuiopy · 27/04/2018 10:53

Yes, Boden is like 70s market clothes!

Tuscansausage · 27/04/2018 10:53

Asking people for names for their baby.

Posters insisting you should have a rescue dog when you want a puppy.

AuntFidgetWonkhamStrongNajork · 27/04/2018 10:53

Starting a thread with some information that's completely startling - then never returning to it. Then doing it a few weeks later. Then doing it again a few weeks after that. Possibly all about the same situation, but not including that information in any of the OPs, but not telling anyone that so the advice given is not necessarily relevant.
