Would you judge?

I do worry Sad think I’ll just wait until it’s out for download. It’s a shame though as she loves the cinema and she loves marvel.

Took my then 4 year old to see guardians of the galaxy 2 last year. He loved it. He loves all the marvel films! I can’t believe some people are saying their 4/5 year olds would be ‘terrified’, most of my sons friends love marvel and watch the films.

Sparklesocks · 25/04/2018 22:20

The running time alone is 2hr 40, I think even without questionable content most 3 year olds wouldn’t be able to sit through that length!

0h · 25/04/2018 22:20

Can she sit still for 2 hours? Can she not talk at all for 2 hours?

I doubt it. Idiot adults seem to struggle so there's no way a 3/4 year old can manage. Don't ruin it for others with your noisy, fidgety child.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 25/04/2018 22:24

Yes my child is able to sit still and watch a film. What a stupid question!

OP posts:
Nanny0gg · 25/04/2018 22:25

I would have thought the noise alone (why are films in cinemas so loud?) would be enough to not take her.

But I can't understand why the thought even crossed your mind.

Nanny0gg · 25/04/2018 22:25

What a stupid question!

No it wasn't and there was no need to be rude about it.

Storm4star · 25/04/2018 22:26

Must be something about pinhead - I also "accidentally" watched it - when I was 3, I used to kiss the TV screen as I felt sorry for him!

My daughter saw a picture of him in a TV mag around that time and got me to cut it out for her so she could carry it around! Funny to look back on now.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 25/04/2018 22:26

They’re bloody super hero films. A bit violent, not particularly graphic.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 25/04/2018 22:26

Calling my child noisy and fidgety is rude.

OP posts:
0h · 25/04/2018 22:26

Like hell it is. She's a small child so it's natural for her to get fidgety or ask questions. I'd find it extremely odd for a 3 year old to sit still in silence for 2+ hours.

mynameismrbloom · 25/04/2018 22:27

No chance. I saw the damage it did to my cousin's daughter when they showed her overage films because her parents were selfish and wanted to watch them themselves). She had years of not sleeping thinking there was something in her room, the wardrobe, coming up the stairs...

She was in double figures before she slept in a room on her own.

0h · 25/04/2018 22:27

All children are noisy and fidgety at times! It's not rude to point that out. Jesus Christ.

I used to have tea parties with my imaginary best friend, Freddy Krueger Grin

Cockmagic · 25/04/2018 22:27

Can't you take her to see Peter rabbit or something more appropriate?

NotUmbongoUnchained · 25/04/2018 22:29

Really? I’d find it odd if a 3 year old couldn’t make it through a film. They’re not babies.

OP posts:
Storm4star · 25/04/2018 22:29

Umbongo just take her if she’ll enjoy it. If I was in the cinema, I would not judge you, in fact I wouldn’t even notice tbh. I understand and respect other posters viewpoints on this but it’s your child. If it’s something you would enjoy doing together then it doesn’t matter what any of us think.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 25/04/2018 22:29

No, she doesn’t want to see Peter rabbit. She wants to watch avengers.

I’m thinking waiting till it’s been out for a few weeks and going on a quiet weekday.

Considering baby kids filmed terrified me as a kid brave child, they won't remember it so I wouldn’t take them to the cinema might as well buy the dvd and then they can keep watching it again and again

Daifuku9 · 25/04/2018 22:33

I’m going this weekend and taking my 10 and 13 year old, they’ve seen nearly all the recent spate of Marvel films (even better seeing the cameos as we’ve met Stan Lee!) and a few DC. They know that the violence and death is fake. The things they find scary are real life crimes and tragedies, having to perform lock down drills at school.

My parents let me watch horror movies like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street when I was 10, most of my friends had seen them too at that age. We knew it was fake.

I wouldn’t judge you for letting her watch it, at home. I understand you want to see it too, just I doubt she will sit quietly the entire time. As a fellow movie goer who loves fellow geeks, big and small, I wouldn’t like the disruption toddlers make in films.

geekone · 25/04/2018 22:34

My DS saw the second avenger film when he was 5 (not traumatised) he is 8 and will be going to this one. BBFC slow anyone under 13 but recommend 8 and up. I saw the avengers film first then took him as I knew it would be ok. He also goes to all the Star Wars ones. At 3 he would never have sat still long enough.

Daifuku9 · 25/04/2018 22:34

Well, it’s up to you then, if she has seen the others and isn’t frightened, why not?

NotUmbongoUnchained · 25/04/2018 22:37

I live in an area where people are very vocal about their opinions. I can’t be assed with a confrontation at the cinema which is why I wanted to know if people would judge

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 25/04/2018 22:40

Meh I would have taken mine. My youngest is 6 and has seen all the super hero movies, he loves them. He dresses up in his dress up suits and loves talking about them.

I'm comfortable with most 12As, although I would have exercised more caution with Ready Player One due to some of the content - tickets were booked and paid for before I realised.
