For being bitterly disappointed at the language and attitudes of people on MN lately?

I started using MN for support when I was going through hard times, hopefully supporting people when they were going through their hard times, learn new things, catch up with news etc. Lately however every thread I go on seems to be one big fight session. People are either being purposefully nasty or having a go at anyone who disagrees with their opinion - foul language included in the bundle. Is this really what this site is turning in to? Surely everyone is entitled to an opinion and surely if you don't agree and can't be mature about you should follow my mother's advice 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all'.

Nightynight" I'd expect my DS to speak his mind when necessary, and not feel he has to go along with majority opinion. I also intend to teach him that, just because someone stamps their foot and screams "you can't disagree with me, I'm too thenthitive" doesn't mean that they're right.

I use better language on here than i do in real life, how bad is that ?
But in all seriousness, sometimes i come on MN and i love it, some days it pisses me right off, when it does piss me off I just turn it off, simple. No song and dance, no flounce, no need to tell everyone what my opinion is, because frankly it could just be as much about my mood as what is being discussed on the day. I really don't get why people don't just go and do something else, community or no community, if my friends drive me nuts i give them a wide berth for a bit, the same a pplies to mn.
