Just seen Davina demonstrating how to make 2 omelettes on Lorraine...she pointed out prior to this to the viewer that she is 'half french', AIBU thinking that this doesn't mean that she is a chef, and can't believe that she is paid on national telly to crack 3 eggs, mix them with herbs in a pan and pontificate how healthy the meal is and her kids love it??
In the next section she will no doubt show us how to make a cup of tea, FFS!

I don't add anything to eggs before scrambling. Eggs, butter, salt, pepper.

I also don't add water or milk to eggs before making an omelette. Same as above, just cooked flat, not stirred to make curds during cooking. I do scrambled over a very low heat for preference as they come out creamier. Omelettes should be in a hot pan so they cook fast. Or so I've always believed. Probably why I find them so leathery.

I wouldn't know how to cook an omelette, and I usually can cook. So don't just assume everyone can.
In my defence though I'm allergic to eggs and merely cooking them in a pan would make my face puff up and eyes balloon, so funnily enough I've never attempted them or even found out how to make them before. Grin
I think as good as the cookery shows and fancy chef recipes are, sometimes the basic stuff shown would be good too. I can cook, but not everyone knows every recipe.
