So infuriated, especially as it’s my own fault!

Isn’t that always the worst?!!

DS regularly travels on the train and it costs £30.50 including booking fee for an open return. I bought a ticket on Friday for the same price but when he got on today, it turns out it was an advance return Angry Basically, as he was on the wrong train, even though I had paid £1 more for the advance return, I now have a fixed penalty notice of £20.95! They were even threatening the British Transport Police at one point as DS had no money and I didn’t answer the phone when he first called.

Not really AIBU, just a warning to be very careful. They are unlikely to cancel my fine and have made money out of me and made my son look like a fare dodger.

We had this. Accidentally bought day instead of open which was same price! Came back next day and ticket wouldn't work. New singles nearly same price again.
Ridiculous how inflexible they are. So overpriced for poor service to start with!

Tell me about it and the woman on the phone was so smug when I spoke to her. She was seriously loving the power of it all and just kept parroting ‘he doesn’t have a valid ticket for this train’ She wouldn’t accept that the company had our money, that meant nothing. We had in no means profited!

I know they are technically correct but morally it’s Shock Angry
