To ask how you deal with horrible big kids at the park?

I've just got home from taking my dc, 6&2 to a long cal park. There were 5 or 6 boys and girls aged about 11. One of them spent to whole time referring to me as the fat lady and shouting more stuff like mind you don't break the hill, slide, trampoline etc. The others giggled and joined in to a certain extent. No parents nearby. He was also swearing and talking about fingering ShockI did go over and ask him if he had anything he'd like to say to me, but he just laughed. I called him out a bit but definitely feel beaten! He had really patchy hair and I did resist the urge to take the mickey back. How would you deal with this? Aibu to ask you for teen put downs?

I would give them what for Blush

The problem is it is utterly unpredictable and your responsibility is to your small children, not to 'improve society' at that point in time.

Being a police officer makes this harder to deal with as your instincts are clashing... what you would do on duty v how to keep your child from a horrible situation.

I learnt this the hard way when I civic mindedly tackled a shoplifter with my toddler in tow. End result, him in prison, me broken rib and head injuries, toddler drawing pictures of bad guys for months to follow. I should have just let the fucker win and left it to karma.

There is normally one in the group embarrassed by their friends actions that if you manage it right they shame their own friend. I’ve done it before and after I walked off I could hear one lad telling his mate that he was so disgusting and disrespectful. His Friend muttered something about not meaning it and have stayed away ever since and look sheepish when I do spot him.

Had a group of lads messing around by our car before and one was leaning over it I just shouted to get the F off my car and they ran off. Before anyone say she anything I knew the familys reputation and that’s the only way their kids will ever respect or listen to you Is if you swear at them.

Feel for you op - i would hate to be in that situation. With dc with me i probably would ignore too.

But reminds me of a great put down. In my late 20s some young teens were shouting sexual stuff at me 'I'd give her carpet burns etc.'. My then boyfriend came over and told them to come back in 10 years when their balls had dropped. They slunk away in shame!!
