"That's foreigners for you!" AIBU to be shocked?

Heard this afternoon. I came out of a shop to see and hear a white van driver (unloading his van) yelling at another white van driver to "Slow down, you fuck!" This was in a pedestrianised area - I didn't see how fast he was going. As driver 2 continued on his way, Driver 1 yelled to no-one in particular "Bloody foreigners. That's foreigners for you!" AIBU to be a bit ?

Unfortunately I think we can expect more of this, if the current climate continues. Social media, news sites, local forums - all full of racism, it’s going to spill more into day to day life.

In my local town, back when the U.K. first started accepting Syrian immigrants, someone complained on a local Facebook group about someone driving badly so it must have been these new immigrants. I don’t even think our town had any new immigrants at that point.

well tbh yes you are unreasonable to be shocked. that is what that industry is like.
When i worked in cab office, when one of the cab drivers who was Jewish came to the the office half door to get his pay cheque, the men in the office thought that making hissing 'gas' noises was hilarious.

IN another van office, one black colleague was referred to as 'the big Macca'.

So in my experience, what they say about white van man is true.

Racists also think that it’s only the minorities who commit crimes in their towns these days. On my local police’s or newspaper’s Facebook page, whenever they put details of a serious incident where they haven’t described the perpetrators, there’s always a handful of dickheads who pipe up with “I wonder what race they are”. “Hmm must be our friends from the East”. Like the U.K. was the safest place on earth before all these pesky foreigners came over. Pricks

I'm not surprised. I'm never surprised at rude racism in this country any more. He's probably the type of person who thinks anyone but a white male is a piece of shit.
