Surely it's ok as a one off... carbs, dairy, fruit Smile
I was feeling poorly and we were late for school.
What's the most random breakfast your DC have had ?

I fondly remember a school mum who was militant on feeding her kidschesity foods every day. No birthday treats etc. No sugar no sweets or chocolate.

Most unfortunately militant mum didn’t realise that banning things make them far more tempting and she failed to teach her kids to assimilate and have treats but not the everyday

So by the time her kids were old enough to get thr school bus etc and be independent they gorged on sweets and junk and both became obese teenagers.

They are still obese adults.

Op breakfast sounds bloody yummy Grin

FuzzyCustard · 19/04/2018 21:00

OP that is a perfectly good breakfast. Often eaten here. Just one condition....cream on top.

heateallthebuns · 19/04/2018 21:08

Aw I'd love a scone with clotted cream and jam right now CakeCakeCake

joystir59 · 19/04/2018 21:17

Veg curry and chapattis.

4sausages · 19/04/2018 21:23

Mine went through a phase of wanting wraps for breakfast every day. Ds would have ketchup with grated cheese and DD would have grated carrot with mayo. Both usually prefer jam on toast now though.

Usertwo · 19/04/2018 21:57

@RoystonVaseySmegHead

Usertwo but she MUST triple check the use by date could you imagine the chaos and heartbreak if she fed that to her children Shock

Anarchy! Anarchy I tell you! GrinGrinGrin

tinkerbellone · 19/04/2018 22:14

@FuzzyCustard
Yes! Definitely cream on top Grin

Last day of the holiday and the kids finish off the ice cream for breakfast before leaving the villa.

BrutusMcDogface · 19/04/2018 22:29

Haha! Ava is definitely having a laugh.

Chocolate for breakfast on Christmas and Easter days. My oldest isn't a lover of "breakfast food" so often has a cheese sandwich or even a chicken tikka wrap for breakfast! Why not, hey?! Though I think I'd be the best mummy in the whole wide world if I gave them scones etc for breakfast!! (Will definitely try it one day!)

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 19/04/2018 22:59

OP - I was with you until you said cream on top. Now I realise you are BVVVU.
However someone upthread mentioned cheese scones. Serious breakfast food.

murmelimoo · 19/04/2018 23:13

I cannot believe someone would not have jam in the house, or a one off scone and jam because of the sugar yet let their child have sweets daily. Hmm

MissEliza · 19/04/2018 23:37

What Grumpy? Surely jam goes first?

EllenJanethickerknickers · 20/04/2018 00:05

What exactly is a smoked kipper? Can you get kippers that aren't smoked? Swimming in the sea? Wink

penguinsandpanda · 20/04/2018 00:16

According to the Guardian Technically a kipper is any fish that has been through the kippering process. 😉

May your DC follow in the footsteps of the great Arnie Rimmer.

OnlyTheWelshCanCwtch · 20/04/2018 06:38

I had a box of chicken nuggets for breakfast yesterday, with a side of Nurofen!

honeylulu · 20/04/2018 08:29

An unsmoked kipper is a herring.
Ergo, kippers are always smoked. "Smoked kipper" is tautologous.

Oblomov18 · 20/04/2018 08:33

Ava has given me a right laff.

honeylulu
It is now my mission in life to use the word tautologous in conversation Grin

Special thanks to Ava for providing comedy gold Star

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 20/04/2018 09:47

Might make some and have them tomorrow! Might even share with the kids Grin

Oblomov18 · 20/04/2018 10:00

Agreed.

tautologous

What a great word!
