Surely it's ok as a one off... carbs, dairy, fruit Smile
I was feeling poorly and we were late for school.
What's the most random breakfast your DC have had ?

Smoke me a kipper Mummy. No child ever said.

I have had my DS1 beg for a trout in waitrose!! Plus he was obsessed with tins of peppered mackerel from about age 2. he also ate scones with jam, he's 6'3" now and never had a days illness or any dental treatment.

A little bit of everything seems to do most folks fine.

Skarossinkplunger · 19/04/2018 16:29

I was presented with a scone, jam and cream for breakfast on a long haul Virgin flight.

dontticklethetoad · 19/04/2018 16:34

ava honestly you must be trolling and we're all falling for it. No jam or processed carbs but they're allowed sweets every day?
Even my kids are only allowed sweets or chocolate once or twice a week and I'm definitely a bit slovenly Grin

ThymeLord · 19/04/2018 16:40

Mine had last nights left over prawn crackers for brekkie this morn.

caoraich · 19/04/2018 16:40

My mum once let me have trifle for breakfast.

NB we both have healthy diets and I love her dearly. For her relaxed attitude to childrearing resulting in a joyful childhood, among many other reasons.

I think I'll save the scone that was for pudding tonight for breakfast tomorrow.... now to locate some clotted cream Grin

DunkandEgg · 19/04/2018 16:43

Scones, jam, butter, cream and foods of that ilk are, IMO rather wholesome, good foods that you can't really go wrong by.

Ava, you're being a bit of a Debbie Downer.

DannyLaRuesBestFrock · 19/04/2018 17:27

Bloody hell Ava. There's always one misbag to spoil the fun.

Your house must smell fucking awful. Kippers and eggs at 8am. Sheesh.

awesomeness · 19/04/2018 19:21

My 4 year old had pizza this morning.....it wasn't from the night before, I specifically cooked it

Well you try having a 4 year old who literally will not eat anything :(

Scones, clotted cream and jam sound fab.....I'm actually texting DP a list to collect from asda on the way home as I feel the need to rebel and eat them for breakfast

icepop9000 · 19/04/2018 19:21

My son often has cold leftover pizza for breakfast.
My daughter loves cold curry for breakfast.
Mor random for me was Christmas pudding fried in butter!
Oh and for Miss judgy knickers I have a degree in Nutrition Blush
However, I do belive moderation and variety is they key. My children are dustbins and will eat everything and are not fussy.
Lettuce and ice water is as bad as burger and milkshakes in excess.
Also the majority of case studies I have examined there have been childhood issues with food and many involve foods being banned!

Scottsy100 · 19/04/2018 19:26

Avasarala
Bet you’re fun at afternoon tea 🙄

Follyfoot · 19/04/2018 19:29

Arf at kippers. Didn't anyone tell your children about the carcinogens smoked food contains? Grin

TheToldYouSoDance · 19/04/2018 19:29

Mine often has cheese and crackers and an apple for breakfast. Scones with butter are a regular too. He’s not a big cereal fan and doesn’t like toast.

ificouldwritealettertome · 19/04/2018 19:29

OP please can I come to breakfast at your house?

ava I hope I never have to go to your house for anything.

PS my friend's mum did that to her and denied her any 'naughty' food and told her how awful it was and never let her try a McDonald's. She became severely bullemic as a means to try and establish some control over her own diet and now suffers severe guilt if she even swallows toothpaste. Stop making food a problem and eat a fucking scone you miserable old bint

Babybearsporij · 19/04/2018 19:35

Nomad Ferrero Rocher is our standard Christmas Day breakfast!

My DC are boring, they are cereal fiends, only really want cereal for breakfast. Sometimes DC2 pushes the boat out and has a yoghurt & brioche!

I have some right random things sometimes. Leftover curry on toast is particularly amazing. Grin

Doilooklikeatourist · 19/04/2018 19:40

DD once licked the sugar off a Welsh Cake for her breakfast ( and she would only go to sleep holding a Bourbon biscuit)

KickAssAngel · 19/04/2018 19:41

I can't believe that some people think raw cashews are any good. They simply have to be activated. Hmm

morningconstitutional2017 · 19/04/2018 19:43

Trifle, which I love and would live on if I could.

Dumbassmummy · 19/04/2018 20:01

Personally I would just put butter and a bit of jam on. But then I don’t really like cream in any form.

celticprincess · 19/04/2018 20:02

We much prefer cheese scones. Freshly baked and hotnfrlm the oven. Proper ones though, not thr sweet recipie with cheese added!! Lol. And lots of butter. Any time of the day.

celticprincess · 19/04/2018 20:11

Apologies for the typos above.

Will also add to the weetabix story above. I recall having weetabix for packed lunch in primary school (in mynlunch box with monks/friars on collected by crisp tokens). 2 weetabix with butter and jam between, like a sandwich. Think we’d ran out of bread that day. 😂😂😂

DunkandEgg · 19/04/2018 20:15

I visited a water garden last year and we sat and had a bite to eat and some cold drinks in the on site cafe. Everything was homemade, hugely tall cakes, brownies, quiche, you name it. I ordered cheese scones as they had come from the oven within the hour. I always do the sweet scone but thought, go on then. It was delicious. Absolutely de-flippin-licious and I STILL think of it in all its warm and drippy butteryness. I doubt we will ever go back there again. Sad

Have a gooseberry & cinnamon yoghurt Ava Grin

Sevendown · 19/04/2018 20:34

Sweets every day!?

They’ll spend their lives in the dentist.

RoystonVaseySmegHead · 19/04/2018 20:35

Usertwo but she MUST triple check the use by date could you imagine the chaos and heartbreak if she fed that to her children Shock hardly bears(bares?🤔) thinking about! Kippers and poached eggs on a school morning ava ? You must be having a laugh. Most mornings I can't get DS to eat anything. Once every couple of weeks he goes to school munching on a packet of crisps 🙈 but he has 2 portions of veg at school so who gives a damn Confused
