I want to buy my DP a little gift

What do you buy your DP just to say I love you? I wouldn't buy him flowers as that just isn't his thing, but aftershave is a little steep.
What could I get him to make him smile when he comes home from work?

Mine would love an unusual beer, a little Lego set, some type of odd food, a bit of chocolate.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 15/04/2018 23:04

I might get a cd/dvd/book.

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/04/2018 23:04

Cheese!

My DH loves flowers but he loves cheeses and sweets even more.

A little picnic of his favourite things? A lovely bread, cheese, olives, that sort of thing? Things he especially likes rhat show you’re thinking of him.

Really nice chocolates.

Nice smellies.

Bottle of wine.

Cinema tickets to something he’ll enjoy.

Make a meal he’ll love.

Be baked apart from a big red bow when he gets home.

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/04/2018 23:05

Naked. Not baked.

KC225 · 16/04/2018 00:07

Mine would like a book. A comedy DVD or specialist chocolate - plain or salt liquorice as I don't Luke it

chocatoo · 16/04/2018 00:12

Copy of viz?

GeekyWombat · 16/04/2018 00:13

At the weekend I picked him up the new Star Wars DVD and a lump of stinky cheese as a treat cause he'd had a crap week.

Puremince · 16/04/2018 00:14

Cheese, Jaffa cakes, the latest Private Eye, chocolate. Or I'd do roast potatoes with dinner instead of just boiled, or I'd make an apple crumble type pudding. Nothing that would cost much.

"What could I get him to make him smile when he comes home from work?"

You...in new lingerie. 😇

Amazon has lots of surprisingly nice choices for much cheaper then most stores. Primark has some all right choices as well.

squiggleirl · 16/04/2018 00:24

Nothing says I love you in the way a Curly Wurly can....

ThaiRedCurry · 16/04/2018 07:52

Thanks for all the suggestions, unfortunately me naked or in new lingerie isn't going to cut it at 37 weeks pregnant 😂

I bake something or get some nice beers. Beer and cake make him happy

BuntyII · 16/04/2018 08:05

Mine likes a bath bomb, cigars, home made banana bread.

PuntasticUsername · 16/04/2018 08:07

Another vote here for the Curly Wurly.

ferrier · 16/04/2018 08:08

Don't undersell yourself Wink
(as long as you're up for it of course!)

AnneProtheroe · 16/04/2018 08:14

Don't fall into the trap of thinking that spending money=love.

It's the little things you do for each other that count, not the things you buy.

ThaiRedCurry · 16/04/2018 08:19

Baking is a great idea I'm going to make flap jack he loves that!
I'm not falling into a trap that love = money's it's a nice gesture get over yourself

I also go for food, my boyfriend once bought me a kinder surprise after I’d had a rubbish week (except he bought me the version with wafer in and I can’t eat gluten and I cried) so maybe something silly like that? A new film to watch together or a nice dinner?

WeirdCatLady · 16/04/2018 08:21

Yup, I agree that food is the way to go. Flapjacks sound perfect.

SaucyJane · 16/04/2018 08:21

If he likes chocolate on his flapjacks, you could ice something special on them for him in chocolate?

AnneProtheroe · 16/04/2018 08:23

@ThaiRedCurry

Fucking get over yourself too! I wasn't being arsey!! Unlike you.

TreacsPotNoodle · 16/04/2018 08:24

Op I don't think @AnneProtheroe meant it in a bad way....Confused

BlancheM · 16/04/2018 13:14

Mine likes the comic book versions of his favourite books, like Stephen King's Dark Tower series or Neil Gaiman's Graveyard books, off Amazon. I can't make head nor tail of it but he loves them.
Just bunged him in some cheapish aftershave in my Yves Rocher order aswell.
Failing that, coffee pods!

applesisapple5 · 16/04/2018 13:27

Aw you're at the same stage as me and I've been thinking of this too... maybe it's preggo hormones making us sappy :-D

OakIsBetterTho · 16/04/2018 13:40

I don't know what your DP likes but I get mine his favourite magazine, Jaffa cakes, his favourite (a little too dear for everyday) cheese, a daim bar, some new socks (he bloody loves socks!), sometimes a perfectly sized tea mug...
or I just bake him a big cake and let him put Grassmen on 😂
