I have never really drank much coffee as am a tea person but I’ve recently developed a taste for McDonald’s coffee. Can anyone recommend an instant coffee that tastes like McDonald’s coffee

I bought one in Aldi earlier on and it didn’t really taste of anything!

We're lucky to have a fab wee coffee shop near us which roasts its own beans - Ethiopian mocha or whatever is cofee of the month. Or the nescafe barista blend one if having instant.

whifflesqueak · 14/04/2018 19:20

What’s that Taylor’s one with extra caffeine? That one. And the hot java lava one.

LadyMetroland · 14/04/2018 19:21

Lavazza Crema e Gusto - made in cafetiere.

Less strong and smoother than the red Lavazza. Sadly Tesco stopped selling it and now I can only find it in Waitrose. Boo

Argeles · 14/04/2018 19:22

Douwe Egberts gold blend.

We also have a Nespresso, but I don’t use it very often as I hate buggering about with the milk jug/frother for lattés and cappuccinos.

I use a filter machine at home. Usually just bog-standard supermarket ground coffee, sometimes treat myself to something nicer from Hasbean. I have just finished a bag of gorgeous, gorgeous coffee from them, but it's ÂŁ6 plus postage a bag so can't make it a regular thing!

Currently on very nice coffee from a new shop that's opened near me called Sostrene Grene.

At work (am barista / waitress) I can make myself whatever I want, but normally stick to green tea as not a massive fan of espresso and milk doesn't agree with me.

We get whole beans from Atkinson's in Lancaster. We try various types, but the prototype blend is my default. The decafs actually taste like coffee too.

We use an Aeropress for one serving, v60 filter for more.

Skippetydoodah · 14/04/2018 19:56

Azera Americano for instant. Tried lots of others but keep coming back to it

InsomniacAnonymous · 14/04/2018 19:58

Aldi Java ground coffee. It's the best I've ever tasted.

Lynz39 · 14/04/2018 20:02

Nescafe Azera Americano. Its the only one I really enjoy

TitsalinaBumSquash · 14/04/2018 20:04

We have a grinder and a barista style
Coffee machine, were big coffee people. We have a daily bean that we get on subscribe and save from Amazon which we both like.

iamyourequal · 14/04/2018 20:05

I’m another for Aldi Colombian ground coffee. It’s only £1.99 or so for a standard bag. It’s one of my favourite products. Great in the cafetière and much cheaper than other supermarkets for same quality. I don’t drink instant coffee at all.

MustBeThin · 14/04/2018 20:07

Instant coffee Carte Noir or L'or
Nespresso machine for latte/cappuccino

For the summer I've just bought a cold brew gadget, got to wait 12-24 hours before I can try it though Sad

klopple · 14/04/2018 20:08

Macchu Picchu ground coffee made in a cafetière. Only drink coffee from a cafetière these days at home. Can't stand instant and kind of lost interest in my nespresso machine. When out, a flat white.

BrioLover · 14/04/2018 20:09

Extract Coffee cafetière blend

Ridiculouslyso · 14/04/2018 20:11

I like Cafe Direct instant. Waitrose / Ocado own for ground.

WiltedDaffs · 14/04/2018 20:11

Tesco Finest ground coffee made in a cafetière.

BahHumbygge · 14/04/2018 20:13

Aldi Italian beans, handground & made in aeropress.

springisfinallyhere · 14/04/2018 20:40

Tassimo or cafetière Colombian at home. Filter at work (thank goodness!!!) and an Americano when out. Rarely drink instant unless it's the only thing I'm offered in someone's home.

unintentionalthreadkiller · 14/04/2018 20:56

Dolce gusto pods or the waitrose1 ground coffees in a cafetière.

Ronnyhotdog · 14/04/2018 21:14

Nescafé espresso or a dolce gusto pod of some sort.

saison4 · 14/04/2018 21:17

Lidl Bellarom Gold filter coffee. it's great!

Ohyesiam · 14/04/2018 21:18

I’ve recently discovered that our local corner shop sells really good Lyons coffee. It’s better than any of the Sainsbury’s ones, and o am a total fussy coffee snob.

inkandstone · 14/04/2018 21:20

Lidl's French one in a stove-top espresso pot.

BluebellCockleshell123 · 14/04/2018 21:21

Lavazza Red in the espresso maker or aeropress. I bulk buy it whenever there's a special deal on.

I don't like any instant coffee - would rather have a cup of hot water.
