To be genuinely scared of a new Cold War.. and the prospect that the UK could be a nuclear target

Just that. Seriously worried. We r within striking distance of Russia, Trump is unhinged, Syria is losing it, it's terrifying ..

I find it highly unlikely that a nuclear war would ever happen. In the Cold War, the Soviet Union and the US didn't directly fight each other because they were both nuclear weapons states, and they knew that a war would lead to mutually assured destruction.

Try not to worry. I agree it's scary but it's totally out of our hands (apart from protests etc maybe social media can help too)

I honestly don't think putin is that stupid. He seems like a controlled calculating person. Why would he want a nuclear war.

Trump is unhinged but I doubt us Congress want it either.

Don't watch TV or read news if it really scares you.

It's weird! I've never been this sort of worrier before. But today, with all the personalities involved, Trump in charge of the US, and the current tensions, I am genuinely concerned hat something crazy could happen.

Honestly I wouldn’t worry - there’s always the threat of being at war with someone - is anyone stupid enough really to start a destructive nuclear war - really? I don’t watch the news - awful to say but ignorant is bliss! I have 3 children and just end up worrying about their future and asking myself why I brought them in to this horrible world - and then we still don’t go to war and I’ve just upset myself

FFS, the number one thing you have to understand about Trump, Putin, Kim and all the rest is that they all live the high life, palaces, women, booze, whatevs.

They love the money, they love the power, none of them want to spend the rest of thier lives huddled in a bunker, however luxurious.

This reminds me of what my husband always says to me when I'm worrying about something. He says "There's no point in worrying because there's nothing you can do about it" but (as I tell him) that is why I'm worried! If I could do something about it I would, it's the fact that I can't that makes me worry about the situation.

There seems to be a high number of narcs at the forefront of modern day politics and it can feel as if our future is in the hands of these nutters, Jong Un, Assad, Trump, Putin, but I think as PP said there’s a lot of willy waving, posturing and egotistical crap going on which hopefully will remain as just
that. It’s an uneasy time though.

They definitely seem more unhinged than the lot in the Cold War though.

I’m with you, OP. Not felt genuinely scared before but I have them same feeling of alertness and no control as I did following being in a large earthquake. Like I’m just waiting for it to happen. I’ve posted this to prove me wrong!
