To think this is one of the most stupid ideas I've ever heard?

I've had a promotional email from Frankie and Benny's about 'unlimited breakfast'.

The terms are, you can reorder another breakfast for free, but, you must have finished your entire plate, and, you can only reorder the same thing, breakfasts can't be shared.

I should say if no one has been to Frankie and Benny's that this isn't a buffet, it's breakfast made to order.

Who is going to want to do that? You might say want some pancakes after a fry up, but who's going to order a fry up, then another one, surely if you're still hungry after eating then their portions aren't big enough anyway!

Well that's the idea . they attract people in who like the idea of "unlimited" but then find they are full up after one breakfast and don't want any more.

(although you haven't met my teenage son, he'd happily eat 2!)

Mycatsarebetterthanyours · 13/04/2018 19:59

Their food is awful so they have to try some sort of gimmick to get people through the door I suppose.

Animalsoffarthingwood · 13/04/2018 20:11

Agree they're food is generally awful.

If there are two of you could one order full English, one pancakes, then when the re-ordered items arrive swap? Or will they watch you like hawks? What are they actually going to do about it if someone eats food from someone else’s plate?

You’re right OP, someone at head office hasn’t thought out the practicalities of this at all.

SluttyButty · 13/04/2018 20:15

It's actually clever marketing. Some people love a bargain and will pay the elevated price that covers the cost of two/three anyway. But most people's eyes are bigger than their stomachs so they won't be able to manage a second.

DoctorWhatTheFuck · 13/04/2018 20:27

The breakfast will be from 8-11 and it will take 15 mins for your order to arrive.

Justanotherlurker · 13/04/2018 20:48

I think you will be surprised, this will have been costed and it won't be a loss leader.

In my youth I worked at a place that would offer an all you can eat menu all day and then turn into a very fashionable restaurant in the evening.

There was many a clientele that would do the crossover between all you can eat breakfast and lunch in one sitting and would regularly make a thing of it.

Are F&B's still going? Didn't they all shut down?

Katchit · 13/04/2018 21:18

Well im going tomorrow. Never been but there is one about 3 miles from us and im going to take the challenge.

Cause i googled breakfast menu and i can get Prosecco for £35.99. So im gonna sink a crateful, by 1am.

Cause i can.

Katchit · 13/04/2018 21:19

By 11am, not 1am.

LynetteScavo · 13/04/2018 21:28

I know a family who wouldn't eat anything for 24 hours before, just to take full advantage.

Animalsoffarthingwood · 13/04/2018 22:23

I never thought of one person ordering pancakes while the other orders a full English.

F&B is still going, there are loads of them round here.
