So after the negative deleted thread just watched some Liverpool ladies on the TV at Aintree who looked bloody lovely.

Hair nails tan dresses and of course hats all gorgeous. Good on them and very glam.

Of course the fail will be there to take the piss as they hate all women especially ordinary women but stuff them.

You look great ladies have fun

Well this thread has turned out to be a revelation, but nothing to do with Ladies Day. Grin

But she was at work and missed it all.

sandgrown · 13/04/2018 22:08

I have been at ladies day today and was going to start a thread saying how fabulous many of the women looked who were there today. Despite the foul weather they had really made an effort and the men looked very smart too. The only negative thing I would say is that there were a few underwear malfunctions!

ScreamingValenta · 13/04/2018 22:11

I love looking at the ladies' day pictures - there are some great outfits. I especially like those who buck the trend and wear something alternative - some terrific rocking of DMs with florals this year (can you tell I love the 90s?) The Liverpool Echo usually has the best Aintree pictures.

Mydoghatesthebath · 13/04/2018 22:17

Have you warmed up sandgrown Grin it looked bloody cold.

Screaming they totally do.

Screaming - are the Liverpool echo photos online?

LanaKanesTerfyVagina · 13/04/2018 22:22

My main thought on looking at the pics is "Fucking hell, I'd be bloody freeeezing in those outfits"

Grin

But seriously.....they look amazing and are clearly having a fucking fantastic time.

More power to their elbows.

They must have been bloody freezing - I went out today in a shirt, jumper & coat and was cold!

ScreamingValenta · 13/04/2018 22:33

Yes - I don't know if they've all been uploaded yet though

The sights at Ladies day frequently make me cringe. I was born in Liverpool and still live near to there.
It is a certain contingent who go to Ladies' day. We who live here don't pretend otherwise, so why should the rest of you?

JacquesHammer · 13/04/2018 22:39

It is a certain contingent who go to Ladies' day

Please elaborate

sandgrown · 13/04/2018 22:40

I have just thawed out thanks Mydog . It was freezing and damp but a great atmosphere. At one point I was clutching a hot chocolate instead of a glass of champagne!

JacintaJones · 13/04/2018 22:45

Fine.

The lower working class go to Ladies day.
They also go to Town of a weekend but the Fail aren't there to capture their images.

Ladies day is wholly embarrasing to those of us who are from the lival area who choose to dress and style ourselves beautifully.

JacquesHammer · 13/04/2018 22:47

I know a Baroness who was there today....

Glad to hear your post was tongue in cheek though!

JacintaJones · 13/04/2018 22:48

Oh really?

Just the one?

I'm sure she has a scream, savouring the sights 🤣

JacquesHammer · 13/04/2018 22:50

Indeed. Got to know her through AmDram bizarrely.

Fortunately she’s utterly lovely and wouldn’t dream of passing comment - I rather think that’s more indicative of class than how one chooses to dress.

JacintaJones · 13/04/2018 22:56

Lol.

You misunderstand me.
I'm no proponent of the middle classes, I would simply feel maligned if people thought that WC northern women dressed like the women who who go to Ladies day do.

Because we don't.

We don't have tans, acrylic nails, fake hair and polyester clothes.
We don't all have ridiculous trowelled on make up and lip fillers either.

I don't much care if you think it indicative of my WC roots that I choose to point this out.

Mydoghatesthebath · 13/04/2018 23:29

jacinta

What a silly billy.

Women are not divided by fake tans and a law degree.

My dds are at uni working hard for a law degree and a medical degree

We all fake tan and have gel nails etc they look a lot better then me but hey who cares.

Irrespective of their educational attainment, which is admirable I probably wouldn't like their style.

I wouldn't appreciate it being assumed that I would like to dress or style myself similarly owing to geographical proximity.

JacintaJones · 13/04/2018 23:35

Ugly inside?

Chick?

Right, thank you. Duly noted.
