Everyone bashed them and hated them and moaned about them, and now they are gone!

And now we have this weird and annoying woman back, and her stupid 'deep and meaningful non-poetry...'

'she went to every game in her 40s and 50s, now she's in her 90s me mam is still a fan but she gets so excited she cant watch it on tv anymore..... together we wait ....to hear the score..'.

What IS that shit? Hmm

Like I said. Bring back Flo and Joan!!!

She REALLY irritates me and I have to switch over

I've not liked any of the nationwide adverts but I agree, I'd rather have Flo and Joan back if I had the choice

LineysRunn · 12/04/2018 11:34

I like the 'small change' poetry woman, she's the only good one.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 12/04/2018 11:36

Are they the singing sisters? Liked them, we don’t really watch tv ‘live’, sky plus everything so they were one of the only adverts we actually watched instead of ff. Still wouldn’t have made me think about getting an account thoughGrin

TonTonMacoute · 12/04/2018 11:40

I found them very irritating, but I find it profoundly depressing that they were dropped because they were getting so many death threats on social media. What a wonderful world we live in Sad!

ItsASairFecht · 12/04/2018 11:42

I loved Flo and Jo! bring them back!

VladPutin · 12/04/2018 11:42

I know nobody who likes them. Fucking awful. Someone booed at the cinema.

TSSDNCOP · 12/04/2018 11:43

I LOVE Flo and Joan, they crack me up.

But I’m a simple soul.

FatBallsAndSunflowerSeeds · 12/04/2018 11:44

I agree, I enjoyed their songs and the poems are terrible.

Pilgit · 12/04/2018 11:45

I think they're great! What a crap world where they got death threats. Who does that? Just why?

VladPutin · 12/04/2018 11:45

This is like an alternate universe. They’re shit. Its so try hard. Plus her teeth.

kimanda · 12/04/2018 11:58

Which one is the small change woman @lineysrunn ???

And yeah, death threats for Flo and Joan??? People are nuts!

OP posts:
TSSDNCOP · 12/04/2018 12:13

So you say Vlad I love them.

Knittedfairies · 12/04/2018 12:18

I find Joy France and her gran’s inside-out carrier bag very irritating.

jaseyraex · 12/04/2018 12:24

I found them irritating. But, it's a bloody advert. It's on for like thirty seconds of your life. I cannot get over that people are pathetic enough to give the poor women death threats!

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 12/04/2018 12:27

No no no no no no!!!

But they can get rid of her and her loyalty bag too.

Nationwide just shouldn’t be allowed to make ads. They suck at it.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 12/04/2018 12:29

While we’re on the subject of annoying ads, that new giff gaff one can fuck off too. Small doesn’t rhyme with fool! Hmm

Creambun2 · 12/04/2018 12:32

I hate all the nationwide ads but flo and joan were terrible, zero talent and so smug. Anyone who pays money to go and see their show needs help.

Glumglowworm · 12/04/2018 12:36

I hate nationwide on principle but have had to stop myself liking some of their poetry adverts. The singing sisters were fucking awful and so bloody irritating. It’s awful that they got death threats though! I can’t stand them but nobody deserves death threats just for being irritating!

Creambun2 · 12/04/2018 12:53

Most annoying adverts from nationwide were the series about the couple moving in together: m.youtube.com/watch?v=fPY_pvySeGA

kimanda · 12/04/2018 12:55

@knittedfairies

I find Joy France and her gran’s inside-out carrier bag very irritating.

Me too.

And as was pointed out on a thread some months back, when she was 10, (as she claims she was in her silly poem,) there would have been no such things as single-use plastic carrier bags in supermarkets!

She is at least 65, and 55 years ago (when she was 10,) it was the early 1960's, and single use plastic carrier bags did not come into use til the mid 1980's!!!

DOH! Confused

BlueSapp · 12/04/2018 12:55

They are both awful ideas, the ad agency is rubbish if that's the best they could come up with.

LittleLionMansMummy · 12/04/2018 13:27

Love them, miss them. Another who finds it soul destroying that they received so much aggression on social media. Wtf is wrong with people?

With two sisters myself, I particularly liked the one in which they ask their mum to decide which one of them she likes best Grin Sibling rivalry at its very best (or worst)!

VladPutin · 12/04/2018 16:40

They aren’t sisters though. So it even more stupid

LineysRunn · 12/04/2018 16:55

OP, it's the poem by Jo Bell, who reads it herself brilliantly I think:

A black and white emperor. London 1844, the foundries churn out change, there’s far more smoke than air and in this giddy town, far more working heads than places to lay them down.

You want your own roof? You better have pinstripes and money to spare.

Fortune favours the fortunate; small change there.

The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker, who thinks they matter? Mr Cooper does. “Help each other and we all get up the ladder” Mr Cooper says, “we all get a share, we all get a vote, we’re in the same boat.”

Archietheinventor · 12/04/2018 16:58

Were they not sisters?! I didn’t know that!
