To think this is a drug dealer messaging me?

For the last 6 months every now and then I get random texts like the ones attached, I messaged back saying please stop messaging me you have the wrong number, and it stopped. All of a sudden I'm getting them again, almost daily!

What should I do? Report to police, witty reply or just ignore?
I think I can block the number somehow (anyone know how?)

Or is it something innocent and not drugs Blush

Tell him you are a police man/woman. See what they say

Playdow · 14/04/2018 17:23

I got a whatsapp off a random number years ago, something like yo man it's xxxxx (whatever his name was) we are dropping off this coke soon can you drive over to cali. I said sorry you have the wrong number and then got blocked. So just deleted the message.

Slarti · 14/04/2018 17:30

PM me the number and I'll report it...

QueenOfIce · 14/04/2018 17:32

Send it in an email to 101

My number somehow got listed on a prostitution website. I used to get random texts and calls asking for some interesting, ah, services. Local police didn't want to know, though in your case they might.

With a bit of personal detective work and conversations with her clients, I managed to get through to the lady of the night. Turns out it's a 1 number difference. She was very sweet, completely understood my problem, though initially assumed I too was a prostitute muscling in or something. Anyway, she was lovely, and we sorted it out. No more calls since.

Coveredinbeeeeeeeeeeeees · 14/04/2018 17:38

Maybe his name is Mr White and its himself he's advertising

Rudgie47 · 14/04/2018 17:46

It definatley is.
If you want absolute confirmation just ask HM for one of each?

Goingalonenow · 14/04/2018 17:52

I don't know many dealers who beg for business! How odd.

(Disclaimer: worked in a drug advisory service in a former life)

Missingstreetlife · 14/04/2018 17:52

Reply again to latest number. Ask them to remove your number from their list and not contact you again. Say police aware. Speak to your mobile provider?

Goingalonenow · 14/04/2018 17:53

Do not say police aware. Ffs. Block and ignore.

Mighty I asked a copper who happened to be sat next to me (family member) that's what I was told!

Weezol · 14/04/2018 22:57

I miss the old days, pre text when things were sold as Henry's and Louis'. I had a flatmate who thought this was superbly cryptic to the rest of us 'normals'.

I was just going to come and ask about gdpr!

BertieBotts · 14/04/2018 23:09

Phone companies reuse numbers from old contracts. You've probably got someone's number who stopped paying their bill!

ClaraLaMoine · 14/04/2018 23:15

I would report this to the police. Dependant upon the force, they may do a simple search across UK intelligence systems and if it matches it may be followed up. Unlikely to be attached to anyone as many drug dealers use burner phones but I've known forces to check things like this before. Always worth reporting.

Funnily enough, if this person is lifted and happens to be part of an organised crime group, his or her phone will be downloaded and your phone number might be looked at due to multiple messages. Again, unlikely but could happen.

Agree with @QueenOfIce however that this should be reported. Police don't mind this kind of stuff.

Most Police forces have a controlled drug liason officer who would be more interested than local bobbies and more likely to have the resourses to track the numbers. Usually based in the Police HQ. Most likely to need to leave a message.
All the diazepam, xanax etc messages report to MHRA who have enforcement and prosecuting powers and again more expertise. They can get websites closed down very quickly! (If you Google them - they are in Buckingham Palace Road in London )
