To think this is a drug dealer messaging me?

For the last 6 months every now and then I get random texts like the ones attached, I messaged back saying please stop messaging me you have the wrong number, and it stopped. All of a sudden I'm getting them again, almost daily!

What should I do? Report to police, witty reply or just ignore?
I think I can block the number somehow (anyone know how?)

Or is it something innocent and not drugs

why does your dp have to block it for you??? that is the most suspicious thing on this thread 😂 I would ignore it, cocaine sellers aren't someone I would try and wind up personally!

I'm not an expert, but I think numbers get reused by phone companies after a certain period. I've heard of it happening when people text deceased relatives' numbers - eventually you get a text back!

It's not necessarily the phone just the number you're using.

Can you start sending them pictures of odd things to weird them out?

oh that makes sense I thought I'd solved the Mystery and dp was secretly encouraging the texts. going to reiterate my plea not to wind up the dealer though, some dealers are nice guys but a lot are violent criminals who are paranoid from taking drugs too much. not worth the risk imo.

Those messages are utterly bizarre they sent in code they arnt cryptic enough but really really weird!!!

Agreed I'm not going to wind up the milk man / dealer with cat facts - although that is hilarious. They're blocked now but I'm sure when they get their next phone I'll get more weird messages
I wonder if there's a data protection issue here, I hope they're up to date with GDPR and not giving my number out to other criminal gangs

Type in the number in the search bar on Facebook. If anyone has their mobile number on their facebook profile/contact info, even if only viewable to them it will show up if someone types it in on Facebook.
Have a nosey n see who it is.
I didn't know that, and it was for that reason why I took my number off my profile. Facebook prompts me to add it but I just ignore it.
However it's worth mentioning I'm not a drug dealer! But you can gain a lot of info about someone from a phone number and name to match the number..

Oh god, this happened when I bought my 11 yo a phone!

It was obviously a recycled number as he started getting messages about drugs immediately, then gambling ones, and also bank ones telling "Dan" how much he had in his account. (Not much, it was going on the drugs and gambling!)

I was forever blocking numbers on his phone till it all died down.

It used to amuse me how they'd word all the messages so they never actually mentioned drugs.

My innocent ds didn't have a clue what they were about.

Any dealer worth their salt uses a cheap PAYG phone. Can't be traced.
