I’m all out of inspiration for the rest of this opening post. Send the St Bernard with the brandy please.

I thought Russia said there was no Syrian chemical attack? How do people on other russia related threads keep squaring this in their heads?

cozietoesie · 13/04/2018 16:29

They would say that, wouldn't they, lion.

cozietoesie · 13/04/2018 16:30

I don't think they try, OYBBK.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/04/2018 16:35

I guess that's beyond their pay grade.

PerkingFaintly · 13/04/2018 16:40

They don't square it in their heads.Grin

That's the beauty of being a liar. They say whatever works or whatever they feel like in the moment.

For the Trumps of this world, it's because they have no concept of external truth. For professional propagandists, they aim to obliterate anyone's grasp of external truth.

PerkingFaintly · 13/04/2018 16:47

Sorry, I'm saying that blithely from the safety of my sofa with my cup of tea.

But I had to spend a (very short!) amount of time with the narcissistic one in my family recently. And I found myself contemplating her with fascination, thinking, "How does she DO that? What must it be like in there?"

And being drawn in to trying to rationalise and understand her.

Well "rationalise" is my first mistake. There is no rational element – other than it feels good to her so she does it.

A WaPo piece.

The decline of Trump's merchandising empire

Randy Rainbow interrogates Ivanka. Maybe he can get some answers Rousette.Wink

Sleipnirthewonderhorse · 13/04/2018 17:30

The article on Trumps merchandising empire mentions the existence of a Trump branded urine test. So presumably those Russian prostitutes were just product testing.

boatyardblues · 13/04/2018 17:42

The way things are shaping up, I have a phrase that covers things:

BREAKING: The Russian military says that an alleged chemical attack in Syria was staged and directed by Britain

Nice try, but no.

BREAKING: Trump lawyers tell judge material seized in Michael Cohen raid is protected by attorney-client privilege.

Nice try, but no.

Ivanka in a diplomatic role without appropriate security clearance?

Nice try, but no.

Chancers and grifters abound, but we’re not stupid. We see you.

Maddow reports, that CBS has reported, that Trump was personally phoning people to tell them to appear on Fox News to say that he should fire Mueller and Rosensten.

From about 3:42

If true, that's very Drumpfian. Sometimes he responds to Fox News; other times he sets up the Fox story and then pretends he is responding to it.

Reminiscent of when he used to call news outlets pretending to be a Drumpf employee leaking a story.

He's shit at actually running anything (business, relationship, country), but very good at stirring.

www.rawstory.com/2018/04/matter-trump-confidant-warns-president-nuke-justice-department/#.WtDodVBW6kg.twitter

'According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, a White House insider who has spoken with President Donald Trump claims the firing of both Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is imminent.

In a week that saw the office and home of Trump personal attorney Michael Cohen raided, the president has grown even more furious with his two top Justice Department officials who were instrumental in the appointment of Robert Mueller who made a referral on Cohen to federal prosecutors in New York.'

I meant with the French translation, Across although now I come to think of it I wonder what the Russian affair would be in Russian.

Probably "L'Affaire Américaine" Lion Wink

AcrossthePond55 · 13/04/2018 19:10

Or according to Google Translate;

американское дело
