When will it stop raining.. I'm sick of soft play...

OP posts:
Ansumpasty · 11/04/2018 07:46

I blame the depressing Corry writers

FencingFightingTorture35 · 11/04/2018 08:00

Round us the farmers are pannicking. It's too wet to plant some crops and if you don't plant them early enough there isn't enough time for them to get going by harvest time.

It's climate change and it has repercussions beyond people struggling with needing some sunshine (though I know that's a bit hideous to live with)

JoyTheUnicorn · 11/04/2018 08:04

Same round here Fencing, and lambing is disastrous because it's so cold.

PussCatTheGoldfish · 11/04/2018 08:08

Yes, it's been a long winter, followed by a cold, wet, cloudy spring. The fields are waterlogged.

From a selfish point of view I still can't line dry, the garden is a quagmire and my one day off a week has been miserable for the last 6 weeks.

Still, the forecast is better for next week, when the DCs are back at school Hmm.

Laiste · 11/04/2018 08:15

The fields round here can't soak up another drop, a lot of what looks like green fields is the grass just about peeping out over laying water. We have swans, geese and sea gulls swimming about in the middle of grazing pasture. The council have been having to sort the ditches in the worst areas to stop the roads flooding.

I'm fucking sick of getting up and seeing it pissing down outside.

LoniceraJaponica · 11/04/2018 09:44

And the next person who comes on here saying they love winter and wet weather deserves a good pasting from other posters. Grr!

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 11/04/2018 10:24

What really annoys me is I feel I'm being robbed of spring! I think it's just going to tip from winter to summer with no lovely fresh bright weather in between. Robert Browning must be spinning in his grave.

LoniceraJaponica · 11/04/2018 12:30

Same here Tawdry. It is misty and gloomy here today, as it was yesterday as well.

The weather looks autumnal, but I have daffodils, polyanthus, hyacinths and camellias blooming in my garden.

SaucyJane · 11/04/2018 12:31

My 2 year old pulled open the curtains the other morning and said in shock, "oh! Rain gone away!"

It was back an hour later...

megletthesecond · 11/04/2018 12:42

The worms were everywhere this morning. Their little underground tunnels must be waterlogged Sad.

LolaTheDarkdestroyer · 11/04/2018 12:49

It's the worst in a long time I'm actually worried about summer.

CookPassBabtridge · 11/04/2018 13:25

I live next to farmers fields and he's waiting to plant his crop too, but it's so boggy. It seems to dry out fast though when we do get some decent weather.

DobbyisFREE · 11/04/2018 13:45

My dad is a self employed gardener and usually starts getting work around February. So far, nothing. It's been a huge struggle and I'm really worried Sad

CiderwithBuda · 11/04/2018 13:59

Where Dobby? I’m in Somerset and looking for a gardener?

halfwitpicker · 11/04/2018 14:00

FWIW it's shit across the pond too. Still snow underfoot Shock in some places. No daffs as of yet.

Bluelady · 11/04/2018 14:28

So sick of it. The grey miserable weather is really getting me down. I want sunshine and blossom, like we usually get in April.

DobbyisFREE · 11/04/2018 14:39

@CiderwithBuda - Gloucestershire so a little out of his range sadly but thanks for that, very kind Smile

Ubercornsdiscoball · 11/04/2018 14:43

It’s the gloomy damp days that are so disheartening. I get that April isn’t often wall-to-wall hot sun and beach trips but it’s just so blooming grey!! Entertaining toddlers while pregnant is killing me!

jay55 · 11/04/2018 14:46

I can cope with rain but not the constant fog. Evenings are getting lighter and it’s ruined.

buttonmoonb4tea · 11/04/2018 14:47

I’m with you OP. I’m fed up with this shot weather. I even said the other day everyone I see looks grey. Not sure I’d it’s the lack of sun or not. We’ve had loads of snow here and now it’s just rain, rain and more fucking rain. Wish I had a holiday to look forward to Sad

buttonmoonb4tea · 11/04/2018 14:48

Shit not shot

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/04/2018 14:49

I will Fluffy! Grin

CiderwithBuda · 11/04/2018 14:53

Shame Dobby!

Bluntness100 · 11/04/2018 14:54

It's shit. We got so much rain last night the stream has now burst its banks, and the grass is totally waterlogged, it really needs a cut but the ground is just too wet, it would completely knacker the lawn mower. Sigh.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/04/2018 14:54

And I got a fucking nosebleed on my 9th birthday tishhope, and spent the whole afternoon in a tent while my friends ran around the garden. Sad
