Cancel the cheque

I am happy when it rains in the week because I hate it being sunny when I am at work (just think of all the better things I could be doing!) but if it rains at the weekend I am seriously fucked off.

grannycake · 10/04/2018 09:49

I went to Cornwall camping in the summer of 76 - in June and it rained every single day. Never book a holiday when I'm away - it will always rain

RepealMay25th · 10/04/2018 09:50

It's normal

It's not normal, its much colder than usual and the weather has been most abnormal.

flowerslemonade · 10/04/2018 09:55

bc the winter was a bad one and is imprinted on people's minds, snowed four times here, before Christmas and after so has seemed like a long winter, and it hasn't gone suddenly warm and sunny like it has on a few previous years in contrast to mark the start of spring.

all this changes next week tho... :) :)

HanutaQueen · 10/04/2018 09:59

It's been so horrible for so long my mental health cannot take it much longer. SAD is real, my daylight lamp does bugger all, honestly this morning I actually considered googling 'where is sunny right now' and getting a round trip flight booked just for a few hours of sunshine. It is miserable.

leccybill · 10/04/2018 10:04

I think the weather has a lot to answer for!

It was a rare sunny day in the Lake District yesterday, we went out and spent money on boat rides, fish n chips, ice creams. Strolled around in just tshirts, feeling relaxed and happy.
Better weather would improve the UK's economy and mental health!

Amanduh · 10/04/2018 10:04

The westhet is different every year. Imagine that Shock

SimonBridges · 10/04/2018 10:04

It really normally is warmer this time of year.
My birthday is early April so I remember.

Yes rain is normal but not as cold as this.

Amanduh · 10/04/2018 10:05

Westhet?! The weather, however, may be a different thing

SimonBridges · 10/04/2018 10:06

What does @ohyoubadkitty have to say about it?

Yes weather is different every year but usually it is warmer by now.

CookPassBabtridge · 10/04/2018 10:14

Just don't go to soft play! Therein madness lies Wink
I love the cold months but it's gone on too long. I have a nearly 4 year old now so I appreciate garden playing weather and a just walking one year old who is desperate to explore outside. We had some nice walks planned.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 10/04/2018 10:18

The last six months have been consistently shit weatherwise.

But it absolutely HAS to end soon.

(I've been saying that for months now).

8oOoOoOo8 · 10/04/2018 10:19

Climate change.

(Doesn't help that people don't understand that global warming is the overall average temperature and that areas can be colder).

But then the climate has always dramatically shifted and changed. It's the manmade bit that's controversial.

Astrabees · 10/04/2018 10:22

Certainly different this year. I have started to do a little gardening and lots of plants are covered in a thick layer of moss which is quite hard to disentangle them from. The climbing plants have tiny little leaves growing, usually they are bigger by now and there are far more brambles growing in the gravel than other years. It all looks very sad out there.

Fluffyears · 10/04/2018 22:49

Are people surprised at bad weather at this time of year? It’s snowed in May several times!

Itsallpropaganda · 10/04/2018 23:01

You'll be delighted to know that the end of next week is forecast to be a wonderful 21 degrees and sunny. I'm unpacking my flipflops!

CiderwithBuda · 10/04/2018 23:03

I’m wearing socks in bed as my feet are freezing. Facebook reminded me that we had our first bbq of the year last year on Sunday. It def feels crappier this year. I blame Brexit.

Shenanagins · 10/04/2018 23:09

It’s freezing and my daffodils are only just starting to come out!

stoneagemum · 10/04/2018 23:10

It's April, month of the big bag, need room for umbrella, sun cream, hat scarf & gloves plus the layers you are removing coz it it warm/hot too.
Month of every season in one day sometimes

BonnieF · 10/04/2018 23:19

Here in Leicestershire it snowed in early December, January, February, March and, for hopefully the final time this year, on 2nd April.

There have been colder winters, but this has been definitely the longest winter I remember.

hellokittymania · 10/04/2018 23:21

You are definitely not being unreasonable. I looked at the weather for Orlando the other day, where are my family live, and it's 30°. I don't usually miss Florida for many reasons, but I do miss my sunshine. And the ability to wear shorts until Christmas

Downtheroadfirstonleft · 11/04/2018 02:15

It's pouring in Orlando too today!

Dabisadancemove · 11/04/2018 02:28

Ooh yes lots of rain in Orlando today. But sunny and 26 degrees tomorrow!!

Peanutbuttercups21 · 11/04/2018 07:19

It has been a very wet winter! My garden is about a month behind where it was last year! And moss everywhere...
