Ok - well wrong in a lot of places!
AIbU to be upset that M & S have stopped selling the most fabulous work shoe ever! This is not going to be an exciting thread.

It was a black court shoe with a 3 inch stiletto heel with a slightly rounded toe but not fully rounded. They were smart looking and they went with everything. And most importantly they were ridiculously comfortable. I could stand for long periods of time and no sore feet. I could walk around all day in them without once thinking about my feet. I didn't have to worry about having an important conversation with someone and getting distracted cos of sore feet. And they were only £25!!!!!

I am career changing in the next few years and I have networking events to go to, career fairs etc and I need something comfy and smart that will go with everything so I went in to m and s today to buy a few more pairs of them. THEY DONT HAVE THEM ANYMORE!! I have looked on line. Nothing.

I have sent them a fB message to impress upon them the importance of these shoes.

I also have one foot slightly bigger than the other and find it difficult to find decent shoes.

aIBu to be completely distraught? Which is of course a total over reaction but all I can think about right now is how I will never ever find another pair of shoes like them.

Disclaimer : I never gave m&s shoes so much as a sideways glance until I bought these. I am at a loss.

They miss the mark so much with their clothes and shoes and here they have hit it on the head and still they don't realise!

But for my job hunting, I guess I can be more flex with suede etc but the originals just seemed like they would go with everything and I always felt confident in them

If they don't bring them back, have a look at Hotter. Not as cheap, but I found the most perfect work shoe in there a few years ago and now have 6 pairs!

Inthedeepdarkwinter · 08/04/2018 20:18

I just looked as I'm in the market for some nude heels for work, but I only see some in patent and in wide fit. Were yours in wide fit? I don't really have wide feet...

senua · 08/04/2018 20:19

I am devastated to the point of obsession that Sainsbury's and Tesco have stopped selling pink grapefruit Hi Juice squash. Why?

Dunno. Asda stopped selling it a few years ago, too. There is hope though.Smile Waitrose is your friend. Not the barley-grapefruit - that is rank - you want the 50% pink grapefruit juice squash.

SaucyJane · 08/04/2018 20:20

I had a fab pair of shoes from m&s once - sort of patent lace up schoolgirl style but with a heel, when they were fashionable a few years ago. Looked really nice with opaque tights and a shortish work skirt.

Women would stop me on the tube to ask where they were from. That's never ever happened with any!of my treat designer pairs!!

I tried to buy a second pair but the ship had already sailed Sad

nawnee2 · 08/04/2018 20:21

The patent one does seem to be the exact same shoe but patent. I have never really considered patent for work. I have a pair of the m&s patent black stiletto (5inch) I think that I wear socially. I have a rather narrow point of reference as my current job has a uniform but do people wear patent shoes to work?

It's not leather anyway, which makes me think it might be quite uncomfortable, perhaps not...

Urubu · 08/04/2018 20:23

Could someone post a link to the patent/nude ones please? Sounds amazing...

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 08/04/2018 20:23

Yeah; patent is a lot more common than anything else in my office - I think it was in the office before; too.

I don't think the new ones are that much uglier than the old ones, either. Any chance they'd grow on you?

All my work shoes are patent or suede, I think!

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 08/04/2018 20:32

I don't have twitter but if someone wants to tweet them the threat I have no issue with that!

This made me laugh.

JustMarriedBecca · 08/04/2018 20:32

I have (no shit) 30 pairs of those shoes. From when they were £19.50. I was constantly forgetting shoes at the gym before work. I have them in nude, black, navy, wine. I'm now going to guard them under lock and key

Inthedeepdarkwinter · 08/04/2018 20:34

But- is the wide fit wide? I need to know if they'll fall off an average foot!

nawnee2 · 08/04/2018 20:36

I think some reviews say you need to go down a size. Sometimes in winter when my feet seem to get thinner I need to wear an insole and then don't really need tk in aummmer when they are fatter and sweatier I guess

They used to sell the perfect v-necked LONG jumper. Just a plain knit, thin, not cashmere or fake cashmere or any of those horrible cotton knitted things that look like dishcloths, just a plain long jumper.

And then they stopped.

Why?

eloisesparkle · 08/04/2018 20:37

What's with M&S ?
It's impossible to buy nude midi knickers in 100% cotton. You can get one pair in a pack of black, white and nude multipack.
Only that awful modal shiny stuff is available.
And the quality !!!!
Dear God. It has plummeted.
Holes in the cotton fabric after a few wears.

Those shoes look fab OP.
The new ones look too pointy in the toe. Yuck.

ourkidmolly · 08/04/2018 20:41

@PlumsGalore
Waitrose via Ocado. Why are the best things discontinued? Feel your pain. I love it too.

TeamOrders · 08/04/2018 20:43

Those shoes were great, I've got them in loads of colours from when they were £19.50. They used to do different colours each season. Was really annoying when they stopped.

zen1 · 08/04/2018 20:45

@PlumsGalore pink grapefruit high juice is my fav too! Waitrose sold it until recently (hoping they are just out of stock) and M&S do it too. When I see it, I buy it +++. I don’t like the reduced sugar versions you can still get in the other supermarkets.

NotTheFordType · 08/04/2018 20:49

YABU for thinking a 3 inch heel is suitable for work or any kind of all day wear. You are saving up back trouble for yourself, seriously.

I'm a hooker FFS and I won't wear anything more than 1.5 inch.

wakemeupbefore · 08/04/2018 20:49

Lesson learnt I suppose - if ever you find anything that really works, buy several....

Walkingthedog46 · 08/04/2018 20:51

Last week in our local M&S my daughter was looking for shoes suitable for work. There were five reasonably acceptable styles but not a size 6 (her size) in any of them. Useless!

LauraRashley · 08/04/2018 20:51

This will set off my frequent nightmare - the one where the M&S jeans buyers are replaced.......the jeans are just about all that is left.

IggyAce · 08/04/2018 20:53

@tishhope I too was not impressed with the M&S knickers after years of buying the high legs. They seemed to have messed with the fit and they do feel plastic. I will have to look at TU or asda.
