in the car whilst she did the school run. We are not talking parking outside the school gate and taking them to the playground. The school has no car park, you have to park five mins away, not joking, take children then get back to the car.

The minimum this can be done is 15 mins, 5mins there, 5mins in school, 5 mins back.

I asked her where the baby was and she said the baby was in the car asleep.

To say i was shocked is an understatement.

So shocked didnt say anything, would you have said something???

The thing about leaving children in cars is that I am concerned about an accident happening that could harm my child. Also one person's 5/10/15 minutes is another person's well ....."half an hour"

I wouldn't leave a baby, anything could happen and although unlikely I personally wouldn't take the risk. Whether, I would have said something....well that depends on my relationship with her. On balance I probably would.

something very strange happened today.
this weekend we only have the younger two dc as ds1 who is ten has gone camping.
i was walking back from the high streeet, whilst dh at home was waiting impatiently for me to get home so he could go to pc world. the man was actually standing in the open doorway wehn i got home.
previously when this has happened, i have come home to a house wtih three dc,a nd no dh, who went out without waiting for met o get back. they were probly only on their own for five or so minutes, but still. i remember i blew a fuse or three at the time. but with only the 5.10 and 4.3 year old, he didnt leave.
since i doubt my ire had anyting to do with his behaviour, it probly means that he was confident in the eldest dc's ability to babbysit?
