to think they should take away my new washing machine and replace it with one that does what they told me it did in the shop?!

Washing machine packed up some weeks ago. No problem as we get a free replacement under the terms of our care plan which didn't prove at all to be a total ballache oh no

Popped off to where I asked lots of questions and selected a replacement based on various criteria which I made clear to the staff advising me. One of my essentials was that the new one must have variable spin speed so I could set it to do full speed spin on a quick wash cycle. The one we chose has a spin speed of 1600 which I was assured was fully variable on all cycles.

New machine delivered today. Did a couple of white washed immediately (we've been weeks without a working machine so they've been building up). Then this evening tried to do a quick wash only to find it will only spin at 1000. The full speed spin is ONLY available on one wash programme which takes 3hrs 22mins.

WTF?? WIBU to call them and insist they remove it as it is not as sold to me? I specifically asked about spin speed in the shop for this exact reason. The machines aren't plugged in so there's no way to actually test it, you have to rely on the staff telling you the truth!

Is there a spin only selection that would give you the option to spin at a faster speed after the wash cycle is finished? I don't know of many machines that would do a faster spin on a short cycle

I’m not sure if they would take it back as it’ll more than likely descend into a you said / they said scenario.

On mine I do a quick wash with no spin then select spin only on 1600?

Our old machine had what I'd call a fully variable spin - even on a quick wash you could set any spin speed you wanted. Only the wool, delicates, and 15 minute cycles didn't let you do this. I wouldn't have bought a machine that I knew didn't do it!

Yes I've worked out that you can do a quick wash then set it to do a separate spin again afterwards but that means you can't put the wash on and forget about it, and it takes longer too.

I'm seriously fucked off. I don't have time to respin every load or do a 3.5 hour wash just to get it spun properly and then there's the utter waste of electricity in doing longer washes or extra spin cycles Angry
